they’re not the target demographic……

That’s pretty much a tebbit ‘Get on yer bike’ moment

it didn’t do him much harm

they are retreating within, sticking on their hard hats, and hoping that their core support come in around them ….

So if "everyone" had these well paid jobs who would do jobs like carers etc that have never been well paid yet are vital.

You would think a team with any kind of media savvy would have anticipated it.  What a shit show.

Jason Stein.

He now claims he advised against the Newsnight interview - but he was Prince Andrew's PR officer, in charge of the great attempt to resurrect his tattered reputation. These people are serial failures who go on to succeed through bluster, rewriting history and reinvention.

Quite a simple question, no?

It's these sort of questions that lead to politicians not trusting the media. It's a stupid question that is trying to get that gotcha moment. It's stupid question because everyone knows the correct answer and nobody watching should be surprised that nobody has voted for a thing that nobody has had a chance to vote for. I'm no Truss supporter quite the opposite, but when you ask these sorts of questions you're just going to end up with interminable interviews with interviewer and interviewee shouting over each other. Fair play to Truss for asking for clarification on such a stupid question.

I'm in no mood to offer fair play to Truss and her nasty cabal. No mandate and threats to chuck out any rebels in her own party.

Top rate tax cuts and slashing benefits. They can do what they want for 4 and a half years because once an election is called all their mates who own all the papers and news websites will post a picture of Starmer gurning and that's an election won. Isn't it depressing.

Which benefits have even slashed?

It's a perfectly legitimate question.

Agree with Captain personally, it has the basis of a good question, had it been “You were voted by your parliamentary peers and party members, do you think this justifies such a departure from the 2019 manifesto this term was elected on?” It actually gives scope for an answer and further questions, and quite frankly you’d assume she would make a thorough embarrassment of it. As Captain said, we know the answer to who voted for her, as would anyone bothering to watch the interview, it’s a fairly low-form gotcha and gives Tory hardliners an excuse to say she was ‘ambushed’.

The regional BBC presenters did a much better job of thorough lines of questioning. Goes back to what was discussed before about presenters interrupting guests; if you give it time to breathe you can dissect more from their arguments, if they bluster THEN you can interrupt and take control of the conversation, ultimately quips and gotchas don’t really serve a purpose.

What does a bloke in Australia arguing with Farage have to actually do with U.K. politics? Or is this just a massive deflection to make an extremely sweeping generalisation?

Would you agree that a neo-Nazi rally in America would be ‘just typical of a right-winger’?

Well...there are quite a few folks on the right in the US who have power who hold such views, but are simply better at dressing them up and gaming the system to their advantage to apply a little bit of them rather than rallying in the streets and making it obvious.

Probably not "typical" as such, but enough to cause real widespread problems, the last six years have been evidence of that.

Edit: of course, such isn't "typical" in the UK.

Yeah the question is pretty stupid. If she makes the comment that no one voted for this whilst asking a question about for example how can we be sure that this growth plan will work then fair enough but in the end its more of a statement then a question

A typical leftist resorting to personal attacks!

Simply asking for a prime minister who doesn't make life miserable for anyone whilst looking like a character from ****ing Noddy or a swan on a motorway when performing the most basic of human interactions am begging
