I don't condone the harassment of JRM but I will say this explains his shit eating grin while being verbally abused.

He knew exactly what he was doing.

I have an issue with this - he's not coming from the Hyatt. He's heading from the centre of Birmingham/New Street towards the Hyatt/ICC.

That road aka Broad Street is now no cars and is all for trams, so they either have a police escort by foot or car

Gove is definitely making moves on undermining Truss at every occasion.

Watch out for Gove, Sunak and Mordaunt really trying to drive the party back towards the centre. Soap opera at its best this politics malarkey

Easy to forget that if the leader was selected by just the MP's of the party Sunak would have probably won it by some distance.

Definitely makes things a lot harder for Truss. Better for the rest of us though I think because even though the tory party might have a crazy majority, with the amount of them against her it should stop her going full tard. Even if she is trying hard to get there.

Yeah, doesn't look like he's come from the Hyatt. There's loads of fringe events happening outside of the ICC, so possible he was coming from one of those. He clearly enjoys the attention though.

No... they dont understand, Taxing corporations and people more will make them leave the country. It will be the end of entrepreneurs and innovators.

edit..... and from what ive been told on here, if you tax more, you dont increase revenues....Im disapointed in you, worlds most successful corporation, for not understanding how tax works.

Afraid to say, but I think you need to stop shoutuing at clouds, put down you pitch fork, pick up a pen and write to your MP  :D

But I will take a little nibble, of course raising taxes on those with the potential to invest (and cause economic growth) will discourage, lets not be silly, and this one incorrect article (He is the ex-CEO) proves nothing, just that the left love click bait as much as the next man/woiman  :dunno:

Nope. He’s the current CEO, as highlighted clearly in the article.

No, he is the current CEO, planning to retire in 2023.
(In 2014 Van Beurden became the Chief Executive Officer of Shell. In 2014, he was paid €24.2 million. In 2018, Van Beurden's compensation was approximately £17.2 million Van Beurden is scheduled to retire from Shell in 2023)

Tax Flight is a myth

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-06-29/when-do-taxes-cause-millionaires-to-move

Only about 5% of world billionaires moved abroad after they became successful. These individuals readily fit the stereotype of a “transnational capitalist class” – unplugged from their nation state, travelling the world for some combination of tax avoidance and cosmopolitan lifestyle.

Many of them can be found in London claiming “non-dom” status to avoid the tax laws of both their homeland and those that apply to British citizens. Others are located in tropical tax havens – such as Sir Richard Branson, who moved to the British Virgin Islands after becoming a billionaire.

My bad, no idea what i saw this morning (don`t post before breakfast!)

Re the article - who is talking about migration due to increased taxation? Did I mention that today?

Don`t think so, I was discussing about investing to create growth as having more tax payers is clearly better than a smaller number, albeit that yes, those with the most should contribute more.

Anyway, that is a US article so has some differences, so looked elsewhere and the general argument appears to be that the younger members of society benefit from the higher taxes and are able to replace any outflow of 'millionaires'' which is a fair point, however such revenue instability would come with market problems.
