They can do all sorts. The Tories are the most successful party in history for a reason.

And the country is a shit state for a reason too. Just because something is popular doesn't mean its good.

Listening in on the news, the state of some members of the public showing their disbelief at what has gone on.  Frightening to think that these people will blindly vote Tories once again given half a chance.  How much **** needs to hit the fan before their heads are turned elsewhere?  Jokers.

Should have included these people are in Bingham, Notts.  Not too dissimilar to Leics South.  Whoever stands up to Costa in the GE, for goodness sake put yourself about and sort it out!

And they tend to vote Tory.

Don’t forget that a huge chunk of them are just plain thick too. Stupid miserable lying thickos. Seen through that lens, Johnson is one of them.

Genuinely starting to think they’re going to put Johnson back :crylaugh:

Good. These aren't the same circumstances that he rode in on.

The time is for real grown-up politics and this man has proven time and time again he cannot make a tough decision. He waits until he is forced into one but by then the damage is done.

Let's not forget he used his considerable grassroots influence to endorse Liz for leader knowing it was his way back in so he is as much responsible for the current crisis as anyone.

He also won't be able to avoid scandal for 2 years. He will be a disaster for them.

If Johnson wins then we are finished as a country. The political system needs tearing up and starting again from scratch. We wouldn’t be a banana republic, we’d be something 50 times worse.

Embrace it. The Tories are banking on his ever-shrinking appeal. He might look good at the minute because Truss was so bad but let's not forget he's a massive part of the reason for her winning and the mess we are in.

He'll get engulfed by scandal (he can't avoid it for 2 days let alone 2 years), he's got a party that is unmanageable, and he is completely uncapable of making a hard and fast decision when needed.

We'll all suffer (we always do) but he would be the final nail in the coffin for the Conservative Party.

zero chance of getting a GE

I find all these polls bizarre.  I don't think that it would be anything like that should it go to a GE.  It would surely be much closer.

For the good of the country it should be a GE as a means to reset the political landscape to a Post Brexit and Covid and combatting cost of living crisis/ inflation and climate emergency landscape.  The whole situation is soo different to 2019 especially as that GE was run by the tories mainly as a Brexit GE.   We've got to get a parliament reflecting the times we face.  The Tories wont of course because they don't care if its in the best interests of the country they are just thinking of themselves as they have done for 6/8 years (I would possibly say 12 but that's possibly just my ideology).

If Johnson returns and voters accept this and re-elect in next GE then the country deserves the the cess pit of lies and scandals that will follow or resurface

Those pensioners will be changing their tune when their mates freeze to death this winter and the racists have had enough and flocked to other parties.

His base is shrinking.

Johnson isn't coming back, surely.

The country is already an international joke. He is still to be in effect tried by the Commons privileges committee for allegedly lying wilfully to MPs. Even the thickest Tories won't want the humiliation again.
