The I cant believe it’s not politics thread.

Right, time to draw a line in the sand.

If like to now think we’ll get some intelligent discussion between Sunak and Starmer and less of the stupid politics we’ve had from the likes of Johnson, Corbyn, Truss, May etc!

Finally, we might get ourselves up to a point where we look at least semi competent and know what we’re talking about in front of the worlds’.

How do you suggest it was done? Let me guess, general election.

Well, yes. How else?

Why should we keep recycling through Tory prime ministers when it's clear what is on offer is completely different to what people voted for in 2019?

The NI rise he implemented, which was then scrapped, is surely about to re-implementen then?  Not an opinion on the rise, just the state of the circles this lot are going in.

Why on earth would the tories call for a GE? Have we seen any ideas from Starmer or just his usual sniping at PMQ's? Between 2019 and now we have had a pandemic and a war, most parties manifestos would change in this period irregardless if you are left or right.

If a reasonably localised low-intensity (by comparison) European conflict and a pandemic that, while devastating, is nothing compared to what other diseases could do, causes any government, left or right, to drop the ball in the way the Tories have in the UK, then it's clear they're not ready for the much bigger challenges that may well lie ahead and therefore aren't fit for government anyway.

We’ve not had a war have we though? We’ve sent material support. In answer to your point, the Tories have cycled through two PMs who have shown no idea how to even limit the damage and even contributed to it, is it surprise that a good slice of the public don’t trust the third?

I know full well we haven't had a war - my point is the sideshow and impact the war has had on our economy, inflation, supply chains etc etc. These are material impacts on our economy from no fault of our own.

If you think the Ukraine vs Russian war is low intensity and localised you clearly don't understand the material impact it has had on ours and other major G7 economies around the world.
