I would say it has to be Adrien Silva

 

Cost £22m in August 2017
 

We effectively wasted about 6 months of his career due to the whole 14 seconds thing

 

Once he was registered in Jan 2018 he then made just 14 league appearances in 12 months, during most of which he wasn’t even in match day squads

 

Loaned out to Monaco for 18 months from Jan 2019

 

Then paid off the final year of his contract in October 2020

For me its got to be Adrian Silva and i think its down to the expectation of him coming here and really becoming a key player.

 

His transfer here was doomed right from the start and i feel bad for the guy.

 

Probably Akinbiyi is our actual worst, but my memory of him playing is faded and he is now just an LCFC meme.

Absolutely this. Arguably our worst ever. Taking inflation into account, he cost the club around 2.5 times Akinbiyi's fee. 

 

Then there was the protracted 14 second late deadline day saga. 

 

Then when he finally signed he did barely anything of note in 20 games here, with consecutive managers seeing absolutely no value in him being in the squad and consigning him to the U23s, despite him being fit. Then he was shipped out on a couple of fee-paying loans before leaving on a free transfer by mutual consent.

 

This was all at a time when we were desperate to reinvest in players to help take us to the next level off the back of the Premier League win.

 

He was a disastrous signing, unmatched by pretty much everyone on that list.

Big Slim at least got an important CL goal or two and had a few good games, despite often playing behind Vardy for some reason. 

 

Benkovic, Kramaric and Kaputska are recent ones I'd probably add to the list. Not because they were bad, it just didnt work out.

I honestly don't think Slimami deserves to be so high on the list. 

 

Man scored a winning goal for Leicester fvcking City in the Champions League, man! Dilly ding dilly dong! 

 

He was an objectively disappointing signing but compared to some of those others he could have been far worse.

There's been much worse than Akinbiyi, even from that Taylor haul. He got 9 PL goals, 11 in all comps in his first season, that was actually not far off what the likes of Heskey, Claridge or Marshall ever got, despite having cult hero status here. it was his 2nd season that was atrocious. I remember a lot of the opinions from his first season being similar to those opinions on Daka now - that he'd done pretty well overall in his first season even if there were glaring flaws to his game he needed to work on.

 

There's definitely been much worse signings for us.

 

I was going to say Adrien Silva was the worst too, but then I thought about Filip Benkovic.

 

£15mil odd on a player who never played a single league game and made 2 appearances (1 off the bench) in the cup is absolutely absurd.

Not money wise but Jacob Laursen was a disgrace.

 

Signed to make the defence stronger when we urgently needed points, obviously couldn't be arsed and was banished fairly quickly.

 

Eadie was also massively disappointing for a record signing at the time. A very talented player in there but constantly injured and only managed 2 or 3 goals.
