I think he might have got the foul had he made more of the initial pull, but he keeps the ball and plays on. Regardless of how the second challenge comes about, I don't think the ref can pull it back because Traore chose the wrong moment to stop playing and willfully relinquished the ball. He's gonna give the ball away regardless because he stops playing, he doesn't lose the ball in the second challenge he gives it up.

In this instance traore half played on but then chose not to - I think the ref was wrong not to disallow the goal on review. It was a clear foul to gain possession. Of all the times when they could justifiably ignore the var they choose this one ! This is where the subjectivity comes into it, you think it’s a foul, many others think it’s not. I don’t think there’s anywhere near enough to give the foul, he doesn’t prevent Traore from keeping control of the ball. Forest had one the other week where an Everton player has grabbed a bit of shirt for a split second, MGW decided to throw his arms up and fall down but the ref, for me rightly, called play on and Forest players were incensed. On both occasions players have felt some form of contact and decided they’re going to award themselves a foul, it’s not for them to decide. There’s supposed to be a higher threshold for fouls this season, which for me is the right decision with how the league was going. It just needs to be consistent across every game, but as we see when everyone views it differently how do you get to that? And do you get to a point where fans, players and managers don’t react in the manner we have seen lately?
Leicester_Loyal Posted 19 March 2023 Share Posted 19 March 2023 Traore one was definitely a foul and a free kick should have been given IMO, but obviously you play to the whistle, basic stuff.

When was the last time we got a stroke of luck like that? Feels like nothing falling for us now. Firstly they don't consider stuff that should have been looked at by VAR and wasn't. Plus they admit it's only the first VAR decision of each game, so will have missed plenty of others.

Because there's no such thing. VAR routinely checks goals and tackles, but it can only intervene for penalties, red cards and offsides. So anything you're talking about falls into one of two categories: 1) Not in the scope of VAR. 2) Subjective decision which wasn't a clear error that VAR would intervene to change, to which I bring you back to: 3 hours ago, The Doctor said: this is literally just a cognitive bias, you remember subjective decisions by VAR against you as robbery and subjective decisions for you as definitely correct, like fans of every other club

Neither Sky or BT chose the Arsenal game, so it isn’t being shown live. The matches that they did pick from this gameweek, will be shown whenever the rearranged games take place. It’s quite simple really, but it appears a lot of people just don’t understand how it works.
