Premier League 2022/23 Thread

Brighton really are a joy to watch.

Possession based but with purpose, passing forwards as opposed to nonsense sideways and backwards balls having possession for possession sake.

Not afraid to mix it, keeper playing the occasional long ball trying to catch opposition out.

The only blot i'd put against them is they don't score many but think that says alot about their options upfront, they sign an out and out goalscorer and they'd be frightening.

In terms of how they play, their style, they're excellent.

Potter got plaudits for it, the new manager is taking over in the same vein, both getting the best out of the players at Brighton, playing to their strengths.

Didn’t they sign 3 strikers in the summer?

Think they signed 3 left backs too and they’re playing 2 right backs tonight. Incredible.

They literally have Emmanuel Dennis on the bench who scored 10 goals and got 6 assists in the Prem last season with Watford

Why wouldn’t you use him?

Wonder if the board are still holding out misguided hope that as other teams keep sacking managers that one of them will come in for Rodgers to avoid the pay off?

Dont even think Forest would take Rodgers if they fired Cooper let alone any other premier league league.

If the concern is how much it costs to sack him, an him going somewhere else and being successful, can't we just pay him off with an agreement that he can't coach another team in the premiership for two years. He is usually successful for the first 18 months- 2 years.

Not on our shortlist. Though I'd probably take him right now tbh. I'd take a couple of good seasons before needing to sack him.

Would actually be interesting to see how rapidly another set of fans got sick of him
