Ric Flair Posted 24 October 2022 Share Posted 24 October 2022 Interesting how low Emery's release clause was. On another note, if Bournemouth get a win today you'd have to say its looking quite likely that at least 1 or 2 of the promoted sides will stay up this season which has ramifications for many mediocre clubs and we are amongst that lot too. walkerleeds Posted 24 October 2022 Share Posted 24 October 2022 If it doesn't hit his hands the ball obviously doesn't loop back up to the West Ham player. Shocking decision.

Unabomber Posted 24 October 2022 Share Posted 24 October 2022 I hate when they say things like “under the old rules that would’ve been handball” well where does it say in the new rules you can hit the ball with both arms in front of everyone to help assist a goal. Shambles as usual.

st albans fox Posted 24 October 2022 Share Posted 24 October 2022 (edited) Not deliberate handball And the West Ham defender has an opportunity to head it away so it’s not part of the ‘immediate’ goal scenario Edited 24 October 2022 by st albans fox

It would have been last season but there was such a fuss made that some goals were ruled out unfairly that they made it scorer only. Maybe they need to say handball is handball? The guy looks like he did a volleyball technique and the goal stands. There is no common sense in the premier league especially with these bookworm soft officials! The contact with hand/arm need not be deliberate if it leads immediately to the goal scoring opportunity - hence my astonishment that bergwijn’s equaliser at our place was allowed to stand last season as docherty killed cags clearance with his arms and it dropped immediately to the scorer.

Iran Posted 24 October 2022 Share Posted 24 October 2022 Friends, the goal Zouma scored was legal due to the recent changes in rules by the Premier League: https://www.premierleague.com/news/2204759 Quote The second change is on accidental handball in the immediate build-up to a goal. If an attacking player’s accidental handball immediately precedes another player scoring, the goal will now be awarded, when last season it was likely to have been ruled out. However, a player will still be penalised if he commits an accidental handball immediately before scoring himself.
