Finnegan Posted 12 January 2023 Share Posted 12 January 2023 39 minutes ago, Unabomber said: So they paid that and also his wages but he goes back at the end of the season? Yep. Boehly throwing money all over the place and Atleti desperate to recoup because they paid a club record over 100m for a player that never suited the manager. He was always a stupid signing as long as Simeone is there. Doesn't fit at all. Bit like Leicester making Slimani their record signing when we already had Vardy at 9 who was a better fit. Just crap business. But his stock ad plummeted and the global market has changed and they're never gonna make it back in one sale. Loaning him out for big money a few times is great business for them. Probably less so Chelsea unless he hits the ground running which, yknow, he probably won't. He's not ACTUALLY done much in his career so far. Atleti lumped up the money expecting someone of like Haaland / Mbappe levels. He'd good but I mean, he's not that.
