Premier League 2022/23 Thread

Have to say, it's perfectly set up for Dyche at Everton, if he manages to change some attitudes. Players he already knows and players that fit his sytem, not many managers get that luxury coming in half way through the season.

Pickford

Coleman

Tarkowski

Coady

Mykolenko

Gray

Onana

Gueye

McNeil

DCL

Maupay (or gray/iwobi if he wants to play someone off DCL)

This lineup brought me to briefly contemplate if this would make Neil Maupay the French Ashley Barnes, then upon a moment of reflection on his diving, cheating, agression, generally shithousiness and mediocre goal return came the realisation that he always has been.

Also, if Arsenal win the league this season, will they also get the “the league was poor that year” label?

We always get it. This season is no different, with Liverpool, Chelsea and us falling off.

Because big teams lose their, way doesn’t mean the ones driving for top 4, top 6,are not worth their salt & worth the plaudits they get….

Plus it’s not beyond L’pool, Chelsea to rekindle their form towards the EOS…

They actually do have high quality squads, that will come good…

Puts them close to a quarter of a billion spent since the takeover. Insanity.

They well over that it’s just shy of 1/2 billion already signing 15 players if they get the next 2 it  it’s pushing 3/4s of a billion.

For sure there will be a fire sale but pushing it to get a large sum in to off set in 1 day and boy there are going to be some unhappy players not making their 25 if he’s brought in 17

Chelsea have bid 120m euros (£105.6m) for Benfica's Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez in a move that would make him the British transfer record signing.

Can someone more intelligent than me explain in pretty simple terms how Chelsea are managing to spend what they want?

Basically because they turnover £500m/season

The fee spend is spread out over the length of the contracts - it’s the salary which is often as high as the annual cost of the fee

they had a couple seasons of very low spend which they have stored up

they are getting close though and will need to sell some players in the summer (if they don’t tomorrow)

I’m hoping there’s just not enough goals in the side to keep them up.

Given the he kept the dossers at Burnley up for so long, he probably can
