Premier League 2022/23 Thread

I don’t feel sorry for the Geordies given their arrogance BUT again it proves that squads without top 4/6 depth simply cannot compete at the top end. We faded in a very similar fashion what they are now, with Liverpool picking up form when their squad looks fresh.

If they are serious about stopping cheating (section 5.B.1.i. Top 6 clubs excluded) Fernandes should get a retrospective 3 game ban for going down holding his face when he was lightly brushed on the chest.

There we go. Sorted.

And Robertson. Antony had his foot high, brushed Robertson's arm and then went down clutching his face. Ref fell for it.

The decline of premier league is apparent with sub standard coaches being hailed as the next wenger or fergies of this world not fit to polish there shoes, most now set up not to lose without a plan b if falling behind, the mediocre football dished out weekly is becoming a chore to watch, blackburns tactics last week were a breath of fresh air to watch, continuously on the front foot playing to the strengths of the team, let’s hope more teams impose the s%*t or bust attitude for the remainder of the season, rather than keep ball at the back whilst losing 1-0.

United fans have apparently only realised what a despicable person Fernandes is now they need someone to blame for their defeat.

Even Neville, as well. He's not turned on him like that before, from memory.

His attitude was disgusting, though. He seemed to just give up once it got to 3-0 or 4-0.

Re Liverpool v Yanited Cha Cha Cha, Whilst you can comfortably say the refereeing didn't affect the result so need for protest, there was yet another example of inconsistency from game to game, ref to ref, perhaps (wrongly) taking the "Big passionate Derby" into account and being lenient, it was like a whole different code. Luke Shaw had at least 3 blatant yellows, including a couple of the "Fernandinho" brand fouls that our boys get carded for every time. Then that 4th official Sir Rat Face Fernandes of cheatsville managed about 5 free goes at a yellow. The Arrogance of "I'm entitled to interact with the officials for 90 minutes including being physical with them" and they just go "Duh....OK", it's like some kind of Jedi mind trick. It's a sense of entitlement, arrogance and expectation and even though we all see it, it goes on week after week.  One of ours tries that, a youngster like K D-H or Thomas and they'd be told "Hey, I'm the Ref, back off, go away". Shaw and Fernandes, like DeBruyne at our place this season how, just how, does the accumulation of offences not warrant at least one yellow?

Then the time management......Ok as commentators often say in those situations "They just want the whistle to blow", the losing team aren't coming back from 0-7, the winning team don't need more time, but why fudge it, why bulls**t, all those celebrations, substitutions, Utd's slowing down of free kicks and goal kicks, add the full 7-9 minutes and let the shooting gallery continue, maybe Liverpool want 8 or 9, goal difference is a thing so give them the full amount of time they're entitled to. What happened to Fergie time? Is that only when coming back is achievable?

But boy, it was funny wasn't it, Fernandes turning into a Dog & Duck "A" Team player, all but walking off, given up completely, and with the captains armband on, absolute disgrace.

Really hope Liverpool beat spurs and Newcastle to 4th place after being so bad for so long

Unlike some on here,I like both L’pool & Spurs…
Spurs will always,be kicking above their potential, but they don’t have super rich cartels,or Sheiks, that can finance their hard aspirations, but they compete in or for Europe, hoping to squeeze themselves in top 4…

L’pool just have a great history, the real hardcore fans, are not whiners, but their is a large section, that have poor social media whiners…They do have a large financial clout…but I just respect the footballing sides history tradition, and present drive into the future…

I said, way back in the season, L’pool  might first struggle,

but don’t ever doubt they can chase down, 3-4 spots…

others like Newcastle, at this moment do not have the staying power, few on here understand that mental skill set, that drives the top club players, it’s in their DNA.

W.Ham,Leicester, Newcastle( presently), don’t have that EOS mental discipline, often because their Star players, start to struggle with injuries,& they have not that depth in squad, for that last EOS push…

,though with the finance behind them ,I can see Newcastle come back again, & could create their own era over the next few years..

I see no decline, coaches generally have improved, but not too the media frenzy OTT analyse. We are seeing better football each season, but also with drops in form. The bottom 8, have their problems, but get better,no matter who they are each season. With 1-3 clubs like Leicester go into nose dive, but that’s sport…

I see no decline…though the Media OTT bias commentating or punditry, starts to grind now !!  but don’t forget they are just the outside noisse and influence, same as soap-opera social media platforms, influencing supporters perspectives..

BUT. It’s not  the game. The Game stands still above this, though now the various super rich foreign owners platform & band wagon, gives even another slant, that can be good for the game, but brings those negative vibes with it..

Plus more now, there seems at least in English football a moral corrupt handling of the game from day officials & VAR..Ruining the terraces pleasure of watching a fair game, & seeing blatant swindling from officials..

United underestimated Liverpool yesterday, even when Liverpool scored their first it was liked they were shocked and weren't expecting. It's a huge derby at Anfield... Liverpool were not going to sit back and hope for a draw. Are season maybe bad but least we haven't lost 0-7! in fact most we have lost in the premier league is 1-6 to Spuds.

Being productive doesn't make you a leader, or a model for the others.  Fernandes is the polar opposite of both.  Toxic.

Surely Ten Hag will take the armband off him.  If he doesn't, he's not the strong character he seems.
