New Manager

Recommended Posts

Needs to be an imaginative appointment imo if the club want to get back to the heights of Rodgers first two seasons.

Appointing one of the UK based merry go round managers and it'll be quite predictable in that the results will probably be pretty mediocre. Mid table type positions consistently.

Dont think hes been mentionned here, but Postecoglu from Celtic?

  • If you need a man for a fast rebuild, how about turning a club at a serious low point around to overcome a 25 point defecit in one season? impressive
  • Has a great eye for players and spends wisely in the transfer market
  • Clear philosophy and good style of play, on the front foot, pass and move, defending from the front
  • Has experience of winning things (ok you might say Scotland and Japan, but still winning, and has international experience too)
  • Would probably ditch Celtic to use us as a stepping stone and have a hunger to succeed here

Would be excellent IMO

Go sit in the corner and think about what you’ve said.

Still not 100% convinced by him.

There is no doubt about the attractive style they play but it certainly wasn't a "fast rebuild". They struggled alit at the start if the season and came short against any type of decent opposition in Europe. I think they've been flattered slightly by Rangers poor form domestically this year.

He could very well turn out to be a tip quality manager but I'm not 100% convinced as of yet.

It was a fast rebuild. After the first 6 games, we've went unbeaten for 30. No Celtic fans thought we'd come close to winning the league this season let alone a double so in that sense it's been very fast. Throw in the fact it's a very good Rangers side and it makes it all the more remarkable and quick. Europe was always going to be a write off this season and we obviously prioritised the league with our team selections in Europe much of the season. For example, we played Betis away with Montogomery and guys like that in the side.

Also, Rangers poor domestic form is a bit unfair to Celtic given if we win our last two games it'll be equal as the fourth highest points total ever to win the SPL/SPFL. A lot of seasons Rangers points total if they win their remaining games would also win you the league.

I have reservations about his style in Europe as don't think we have the resources to get good enough players to play the top sides at their own game, oddly similar to what Rodgers tried to do in Europe and failed. Think it's unfair to judge him in Europe as yet though as he basically had two games against Bodo Glimt with his own team post January.

What Diego Martinez did with Granada was amazing. Surprised he’s not been picked up yet.

Basically took them from upper mid table in the segunda to 7th in the top flight in two seasons with the lowest budget.

Pressed high when they needed to and sat deeper depending on the game. Good with youth as well. Already speaks English.

Great shout

We need someone that tells it how it is and connects with the fans first and foremost.

Then preferably someone with European experience, a desire to get us there and someone key players will want to play under and find their best form again.

We've got plenty of talent in the squad and there will be lots of managers keen to join us if the opportunity came about. We just need a lift and a couple of fresh faces.

It’s very appealing job to the vast majority of managers. They’re egotistical enough to want to always climb the ladder.

We’re in the top 1% of clubs globally for manager’s salary, player wages, transfer budget, squad quality, facilities, ownership etc.

Typically managers are paid less than players so the median managerial wage in the top 10 European leagues is probably a lot lower than we’d expect.

The majority would jump at the chance to earn £50k pw let alone anymore. Essentially there’s not that many managers out of our reach at all.

Just because ownership screwed up and put this manager on a 10M salary doesn't mean they're going to do it again.

He's not attainable but I would have David Moyes in a heartbeat. It feels weird saying it but I feel like we need to go back to basics i.e. Hard work and organisation.

I wouldn’t want him. I think he’s a Scottish Fat Sam

Most of us want Rodgers out! But who do we want in?

Just concentrate on speaking for yourself. If that's what you want great but do not assume you speak for everyone and just because you want it most others think like wise. Remember a large portion of people that are happy say nothing, why would they?

Never heard of him, but in those few sentences, I’m in!
