Isn’t that relative to the Academy and infrastructure though?

They went from Category 3 to 1 in 2020 back down to 2 this year.

So only 2 years at Category 1, he wont of seen the benefits of being able to compete for better prospects during that time.

Plus Burnley were already punching above their weight, struggling to survive most seasons, meaning they don’t have as much opportunity to throw mediocre youngsters on for game time.

I get the impression that the Dyche haters are simply not trying to imagine what one has to do with in a club of such limited resources. Plenty of clubs in the championship have a bigger fan base. Potter and Frank have done great so far, however ,why would they come here at the moment ? Their clubs would want massive £££ as well. Neither has yet got their clubs into Europe either

Don’t get me wrong, I would hope the club have something better up their sleeve than Sean Dyche if BR was to go.

He hasn’t really done enough to earn a move to a top 10 or 8 club.

Maybe if he jumped ship whilst he stock was high after taking Burnley into Europe.

But not currently, on the back of getting the boot.

Mourinho and Poch have had that experience, I am not sure that many of the other candidates have avoided the same. Rodgers with Liverpool. If you eliminate all on that basis..who will be left ?

Their CVs were a little better though.

Dyche will get other opportunities just lesser, maybe another chance with a promoted team in the prem if they are looking like they are going down.

Actually though I think he would be a decent choice, I don't think he will be. I have this feeling we are going to hang on to Rodgers for a lot longer, by which time someone else will have taken him on. We will then get rid of Rodgers and appoint some plonker instead. It wont be poch, Mourinho, Potter or Frank.

Probably Allardyce or some other relegation specialist if it comes to that, Sad that

 Man United Job lol

Ten Haag taking over from Rangnick was formally announced around the same time he was sacked by Burnley... The change might not have taken place until the summer but it was set up well before then.

anyone naive enough to think a 5 ft 7 cb could cut it in a physical league like the prem is clearly not a man you want

lol just to check, was top flight football somehow less physical in the 60s and 70s, because y'know, Ron "Chopper" Harris didn't do too bad at 5'8".

Also highly doubt that Fabio Cannavaro, Carles Puyol or Franco Baresi (all below 5'10") would have struggled in the premier league.

Agreed, he is Premier League tested. He got and kept Burnley up for years with very little money, including one down and up.In the main his transfer business was excellent. He got the best out of a lot of average players. Equally importantly he is available !! Seems to me like there is some crazy snobbery going on regarding him. Also some lunatic dreaming about other managers who might come here..they won't !

We pay a salary of £12.5 million a year to Rodgers currently.

Mourinho is paid £6.4 million by Roma.

I am aware that there are more to choices than just money, however it removes alot of compromises, to evidence this please see examples of: Manchester City, PSG, Chelsea & Blackburn Rovers, who all became more successful clubs, after their budgets were swelled after ownership changes.

To simply say he wouldn't come here is subjective. I'd happily move to a competitor in my industry if they were to double my salary, especially if the challenge is there for me.

We offer any manager a great opportunity to be at the peak of their profession. Maybe not along the Real Madrids yet I appreciate. But not far off at all.

Still would be happy to see Dyche however, as he is a proven Premier league manager, who for years overachieved compared with the resources he had.

Jorge Sampaoli all the way.

He is passionate, he is emotional, he is bold and brave also a bloody good coach.

He's done a great job with Marseille last season and finish the season 2nd behind PSG.

It is about time to bring some fire, passion and movement into our team .

Would be interesting, never stays at a club longer than about a year / year and a half but that's fine if during that time he does well.
