Who got relegated?

Dyche was on the verge of relegation before he got sacked.

I like him, and he did a great job at Burnley, but people are posting rubbish about him. "He'd make us hard to beat", well why didn't he make Burnley hard to beat? Fvck me.

People think it's boring, and we're not creative now, I'd give it two month max under Dyche before people start saying the same thing.

Actually though I think he would be a decent choice, I don't think he will be. I have this feeling we are going to hang on to Rodgers for a lot longer, by which time someone else will have taken him on. We will then get rid of Rodgers and appoint some plonker instead. It wont be poch, Mourinho, Potter or Frank.

Probably Allardyce or some other relegation specialist if it comes to that, Sad that

Calling Allardyce a "relegation specialist" and then asking for Dyche lol

It’s hard to tell with Dyche, there’s only one point of reference with his Burnley team. Given their ownership and board weren’t interested in club building at all the job he did was remarkable.

He’s more progressive than the perception, Burnley pressed far higher and more aggressively than they got credit for.

The reason he wouldn’t be my first choice is he’s only ever coached direct football and we have a squad decidedly not suitable to play it. Although it’s not Dyche’s fault he played to his side’s strengths whilst not having the budget and recruitment set up in place to ever change it.

There’s better managers out there but we could do worse, our managerial recruitment has never been bold under the current ownership.

Jorge Sampaoli all the way.

He is passionate, he is emotional, he is bold and brave also a bloody good coach.

He's done a great job with Marseille last season and finish the season 2nd behind PSG.

It is about time to bring some fire, passion and movement into our team .

What happened at end of last season? The bloke is mad as a box of frogs, always ends up  with club infighting

What has Cambiasso achieved as a coach that convinces you he’d be successful with us?

I'd be interested to know that too.

I've never quite understood the love for Cambiasso here.  I get that it felt a coup and a privilege getting him to come here and to watch him play for us, and he did OK for us during that season, but at the end of his year's contract he couldn't get out of here quick enough.  It makes me think that he didn't have the nous to see what an exciting season could have laid ahead with our squad that had developed, and he certainly had no desire to be a part of it and see where it would lead.

Hahaha. Yes he is mad and didn't get along with the club owner end up leaving the club.

But maybe this should be the way for us? Coach by the competitive,  passionate manager who's willing to put things out there.

Who knows?

Nuno's ended up in Saudi Arabia hasn't he?

That's good news.

Not having a head of analytics in place at the moment is a worry, not that I think the club listen to them much anyway.

I think it's too late for a manager change right now. The alternatives are very risky. If the board didn't trust Rodgers they could have made a move for Alguacil or Gasperini back in May. Alguacil will not leave Real Sociedad now and his team will challenge easily for a top 4 finish this season. Atalanta bottled it last season and an offer to Gasperini by us would have been tempting for him in May.

Also I don't want Dyche anywhere near my team.

flip side of that coin is that he wouldn’t have a Clue what to do if he’s not scraping the bottom of the barrel .  He’s be a 1 way ticket to relegation for a team like Leicester he wouldn’t get get back into Europe  and he’s done nothing to suggest otherwise/ he got worse not better the further his Burnley career went on..

Because of the lack of investment and facilities, at Burnley no where near what we have, he lasted a long time with quarter of a bag of peanuts at Burnley compared to the three quarter bag of peanuts we could offer, he ain't perfect or a media king but in our current situation he could prove to be a good interim look at Eddie Howe now at Newcastle

I reckon he did what he did becuase, I suspect his mandate was Try and stay in the Prem, at all costs, not disrupt the top 6 like ours is supposed to be, I'm not saying he is the ideal candidate based on experience, but with his track record on a shoestring budget it's not bad, with more at his disposal he might do differently we would certainly get a bit more agression out of the players we currently have and spark, he doesn't strike me as the sort of manager who would pick favouritism over form either.

Genuinely cannot believe people are seriously talking about Sean Dyche. Literally every criticism of Rodgers: shit football, insufferable interviews and constant excuse making, is true of that guy. You'd all be sick of him after 5 games

Go on then ,do tell who your "miracle man " is ?

I really hope we never become a fan run club reading some of the posts on the forum.  We would end up with Sean Dyche as manager and half of our first team players rotting in the under 18's as they are not fully committed to the club signing contracts so we can sell them for a profit.  Yes things don't look great at the moment, but they are still better than they have been for decades.  I'm really not a Rodgers fan, but he is better than a lot that we have had (just don't let him buy any players). I genuinely think the board are sorting things out for next season with a new head of recruitment, new medical staff, new set peice coach, a glut of contracts ending and saving the money for transfers this season.

I wouldn’t say we are flush with investment right now.. signed a third choice keeper on a free and that’s it.
