Honestly think Schmeichel would have saved one of or even both of Rashford's goals. Instead we have a sack of potatoes between the sticks and at least the spuds can be used for Sunday dinner.

Dreadful keeper. Despite our wins recently he's conceding two a game.

 

Not commanding enough, dosen't make himself big enough and simply he's not good enough.

 

Iversen deserves his chance but sadly won't get it.

Let's be honest, I don't know what his career was like before us as I can't even be arsed to look, but he is stealing a living as a professional keeper.   I firmly believe hes one of the worst keepers in the top 4 professional divisions.  He's absolutely atrocious.  

 

The defence looks shaky purely and solely because no one trusts him to do his job properly.

I think you would expect a top striker in form like Rashford (or Nacho/Vardy) to put away all of those goals but even so he did some strange things. 

 

The way he backtracked for the first made it easier for Rashford and the second was bizarre.

 

Really struggling to understand how we haven't given Iversen a run, if he's worse then why is he still with us and how did he get player of the year at Preston.

It's always the same thing when there's a remotely 'wide' one-on-one... backs off so that there's more goal available, and overcompensates to avoid conceding at the near post, both of which result in a large gap being left from the centre to far post. Basically an open goal.

 

You then get some saying there's nothing he can do... but that's because he's put himself in the position where there's nothing he can do at that point.

He’s only in the team because of the comments Rodgers has made in the past and is too proud to back track on them.

I see no reason the club won't replace him in the summer... all the stuff about Rodgers sticking with him because he is too proud is speculation. 

 

Until then, we must endure a championship keeper between our sticks.

He is not competent at this level. I think he'd be an okay championship keeper. We elevated him when he was content beinv a backup and it shows.

youll be hard pushed too, hes let in 41 goals this season in the league, second most behind Bournemouth

surely now we need to give Iversen a shot, cos Ward is not good enough, its clear to everyone except rodgers at this point

The ONLY person who I know who thinks he’s good enough is unfortunately the only person who needs to think he’s good enough - Mr Brendan Rodgers.

The difference today was the goalkeepers. I'd question his positioning during a one on one, he almost seems to move to one side to make it easier for the striker. He's sadly nowhere near our past great goalkeepers.

We really shouldn't be in a relegation fight with the players we have but, if there is one player mostly accountable for our position down near the bottom, it's Ward.  The mismanagement in not bringing in a suitable alternative to Schmeichel, or simply refusing to let him go, could very much still work out a costly decision.

Has anyone actually tried to search Danny Ward on youtube, Twitter or elsewhere? It's common knowledge now that he is the worst keeper in the league, probably one of the worst keepers to ever start at this level.
