Has there been such a narrative,? 

 

The question most have posed is that Ward is undoubtedly the worst PL keeper, possibly one of the worst in the championship and could well be only mud range league 1. 

 

The justifiable question has been, not if Iversen is world class, but is he better, or at least level with,  a mid ranking League one keeper?

That’s never been the narrative. The narrative is actually Ward is definitely not good enough and Rodgers needs to give Iversen an extended chance to see if he is good enough or at the very least better than our current number 1 for the rest of this season. Tonight iits reasonable to say ihe saved us from losing that match by a much bigger margin and showed in a 1v1 scenario that he is more confident than Ward.

Agreed, and I know it isn't saying much but I still saw him as an improvement on Ward. Made two really good saves, and held his own in 1v1s, which is arguably Ward's biggest weakness, along with shot stopping, positioning and basically any basic fundamentals that would be expected from a League One goalie.

Yep.  We loan him to Wrexham for a penny.  He may have to ride the bus to Bradford and Grimsby, but they’ll make a movie about him.  Probably throw a homecoming parade.  Win-win.

 

Unless anyone has a better idea?  Because nobody, NOBODY, is going to buy him on Prem wages through 2025.

The shit defence has to take accountability. 
Everyone knows Ward is shit, so maybe we should be trying to limit the chances rather than keep leaving one on ones

If everyone knows he's shit it's also spectacularly stupid to have him in goal

At this point of the season and looking at the options available, it’s way easier to replace Ward than it is Rodgers. We have a direct alternative for Ward already at the club in Iversen.
