These are improved performances, that mean this weak point in the team becomes less of an urgent priority to fix. Nonetheless it should still be a priority. I still maintain his performances have been nearly on par with Ricardo and Kirkland, with Hamer ranking above. Even Conrad Logan.

As mentioned by some members here, he is not that bad when he doesn’t need to make too many saves. once the backline cannot protect him, he is done!  Remember, we has 3 wins in 12 matches —- but they all come against the bottom 3 teams.

Fair play to him.

I criticised him when he looked like he couldn't catch a cold but he has been superb recently.

He made big saves at important times. You can't ask for any more than that from your keeper.

4th best keeper in the league since the start of October / in the last 5 games / since this run of form though so he is definitely improving

After 7 games Leicester had conceded the most in Premier League . After 12 games Leicester have the joint 2nd highest number of clean sheets this season. Might need to read that twice.

To be fair about half the league is joint 2nd on 4 clean sheets, but technically true, the best kind of true!

I have been very vocal about Ward not being good enough, I still don't think he is, but he is clearly playing better than he was to start the season, had an easy run of games so will have to see how he does in tougher fixtures. Can't fault him for keeping clean sheets though.

The CS run coincides with playing against the 18,19 and 20th best teams in the league.

So you cannot simply look at these 5 matches (he conceded 3 and was awful against Bournemouth too) Without looking at the games in which we played against big teams… We have to look at the season as a whole. Whether he has improved or not I dont know— we didnt play against bad teams which r so weak in taking their opportunities, and had Less than 2 big chances per match.

I think so. Our fixtures r not evenly distributed. We should have cut him some slacks earlier in the season when we played 4 big teams in like 7 matches. But we should also bare in mine that the recent run is against 3 bottom teams.

So his whoscored scores about summed up his season— 6.33 points, the worst starting  goalkeeper in the league.

Whether he is good enough to be a no.1 in the club, we may have to see for a few more months. But anyway, I dont think his performance this season will bring him a starting berth in the WC—his improvement in form(which coincided with a easy fixture) comes too late, and given that he was given 0 mins against Poland and Belgium, i dont think Rob Page will suddenly replace Hennessey with him as the defence have formed a bonding throughout this year.

The one thing so many people forget is that these players are just humans like anyone else. Danny Ward had played less than 5 PL games before this season. He may not have been a young keeper in terms of age but he was and still is a young keeper in terms of actual experience. The lack of confidence he was clearly suffering from seems to be evaporating before our very eyes which is great. The whole team is getting better in fact. There is still a way to go and we are not suddenly going to challenge the top 7 but we ain’t going down either.

It’s a good Sunday evening all round 💙

Guest Col city fan

I did say weeks ago it was not helping him at all having a mickey mouse defence ion front of him. Since we've become more solid defensively, Ward has looked much better

No coincidence whatsoever in my mind

Are we just that bad at the beginning of the season? Or just becoz of the fixtures?

Well in regards Danny Ward, he’s been better recently. He can only deal with what’s put in front of him… which he has been doing recently.

I’m not his biggest fan but I can’t knock him for the recent performances.

lets see how he fares against Man City. then we can have a primary assessment on whether he has the potential to be our no1
