Danny Ward

The first goal was Faes not trusting him and opting to clear, the second goal he rushes out like an idiot.

Doesn't trust him? Thats irrelevant. He screams "keepers". At that stage as a defender you leave it. Ward not to blame if he screams for it and the player still slashes at it. It's on Faes.

Just for clarity, I wish we did have a better keeper that was more commanding and solid and had more of a confident presence. A better keeper improves our side immensely. But I can't pin the blame on the goals today on him.

Thats because.....  ITS NOT HIS FAULT (this time)

Guest Kopfkino

The second one is a shocker. Doesn’t need to be so far out and engage Nunez so soon. Leaves himself in no man’s land and the goal gaping, was a poor finish really. Expect John Harrison to put up a tweet later about how much higher the probability of scoring was as a result of Ward’s action.

The worst thing about Ward is he is a confidence keeper

When confident He is a good GK

Personally I would like to see better

But the worse thing we can do is get on his back

His confidence will drop again and we will go back to the awful GK we had at the start of season (or Wales had against England) and he is better than that.

Better to be a Leicester Support and support him even when he is not at his best

How is it irrelevant? If he has confidence in the keeper behind him, he leaves it for him to collect.

Sad but true. We also knew this was coming after his shambolic world cup performance, prior to the WC he was doing well.

When Faes and Justin were excellent, nullifying most attacks by the bottom half sides and forcing the opponents into tough shots, making it easy for Ward to save, and heading most of the set pieces out of the box, fans: Ward is great! So many CSs!

When Faes is below standard: Not Ward’s fault!

When Ward wasnt helped by a weak Welsh backline, and conceded a Rashford fk due to his poor positioning: Not Ward’s fault! Blame Page for not starting him leading to his loss in confidence and made him shaky!

Blame Hennessey for forcing Ward to play when down one man!

LMAO

If you've lost trust in the keeper, you are not going to listen to him.

He is not a Prem quality keeper and he is our number one, insane really.

Yea that was another moment when Amartey headed the ball when Ward was clearly shouting to claim it, they had a brief moan at each other as the game continued.

It does look like our CB’s don’t trust his calls.

I get the ‘trust’ issues but this is Premier League football. They’re colleagues not mates down the park on a Sunday morning.

If the keeper calls, leave the ball for him to collect. Obviously the call needs to be as early as possible, but if it is, and it’s loud enough, he has to leave it.

A fair few instances of players moaning at Ward have happened this season. Poor start didn’t help but once things picked up, he must’ve earned some respect amongst the squad.

Unless an established keeper comes in and demands respect from his peers, I can’t see the mentality amongst the defensive unit changing, unfortunately.
