Iverson ain't the answer according to the club - he hasn't impressed behind the scenes at all and suffers from goalkeeping technique issues in same way as Ward. Obviously that goes against the grain from his time at Preston but that's the opinion at the club.

But surely the club is aware of these issues. Surely they must be actively looking for a replacement?

 

Ward is rock bottom in every football analytics chart I’ve seen. We’re becoming a laughing stock…

"the club" or "Rodgers"? Remember Rodgers is apparently a big fan of Stolarczyk who cannot get a game on loan at Fleetwood, frankly I don't trust his opinions

I’m lead to believe that they don’t find him commanding and believe his ball playing ability isn’t good enough?

Jumps away from the ball and almost tries to turn his back on it like he was scared of it, they'll still be people in here saying "he's not the problem, because he wasn't at fault" though. It's yet another goal where he's not directly at fault but he could clearly do much, much better at though and another one that a quality PL keeper could well have saved/

That pisses me right off, ffs we are not professionals, but the criticism is backed up by football analytics placing Ward at the bottom of every fkn chart there is - add to that anyone who has watched him play would agree that he looks about as comfortable in the goal as in outfield player forced to play goalie.

People said he had 6 CSs but in all those CSs there were hardly any big chances. They were all eliminated by Faes and Justin

If Stowell wasn't that impressed why did the club work so hard to keep his loans progressing each year. Iversen's development and loan moves are probably one of the few things the club have got right lately and if Stowell was coming to me as manager and saying this that and the other why hasn't it been rectified at all he's been at the club for years, whether that's out on loan or not. Seems very amateur, when Kasper left we should have took the opportunity to move Stowell on as well

Any idea what his 1 on 1 shot stopping stats are this season? There's usually an excuse keepers aren't expected to save many 1 on 1's but that was one of Schmeichel's main strengths and I feel like we gift the opposition a fair amount of them for it to not be a concern.

Whilst there are a number of mistakes leading to their goal, Ward was about as much use as a cardboard cut out against Mitrovic. Find the whole thing staggering that the media are not paying more attention to how poor he has been. Perhaps the reasoning is that in majority aspects of goalkeeping he is below par and thus there aren’t many clangers to get emotive about. Jakupovic was better.
