From a career point of view for Lingard it really does show his ambition. Chance to challenge at the top with West Ham on 130k or play at Forest for 200k. It's very telling of the man. At West Ham, he’d be living in London, looking after his brother / sister. Maybe he didn’t want to uproot them. At Forest, it’s commutable, low risk at 12 months and he’s getting a better weekly wage. Sometimes, we forget football is a job to, that despite being good at it, some players won’t enjoy it and just go through the motions.
