Brentford signing Ben mee, gets that's the end of this interest

Ugh.  Well done Leicester.  This is like signing him twice!

Its a bit like that scene in Marathon Man when Dustin Hoffman is being tortured and then there is a break in and he gets rescued.  But its all just a ruse to break his will as the 'rescuers' just bring him back to his tormentors.  It's very much like that.  I feel like Dustin Hoffman must have felt.

If Brentford were literally offering a pound I would have taken it to get him off the books and off the payroll.

In fact I would have paid them a pound.  A whole pound of my own money.

Sod it.  Lets call it a fiver.

Club plan move for Leicester or Manchester United player ‘in coming days’ – Both ‘on the sales list’

Turkish side Trabzonspor are eyeing one of either Manchester United’s Axel Tuanzebe or Leicester City’s Yannik Vestergaard as they target a new centre-back this summer.

That’s according to Milliyet, who say one of those two names could move ‘in the coming days’.

The newspaper reports that the Turkish side are looking for a new centre-back to bolster their squad and have set their sights on Tuanzebe and Vestergaard as they have been ‘put on the sales list’ by Manchester United and Leicester respectively.

Trabzonspor have been following the two players ‘closely’ for a while and want to finish the job by securing a loan deal with an option to buy for either player.

Tuanzebe has returned to Manchester United this summer after an unsuccessful loan spell at Napoli in the second half of last season. That followed a similarly unsuccessful spell at Aston Villa, and he ‘cannot find a place in the team’ under Erik ten Hag.

Vestergaard, meanwhile, enjoyed a difficult first season with Leicester last year after a move from Southampton.

He wants to leave and join a team where he can play regularly and is ‘warming’ to the idea of a move to Trabzonspor, where he would play alongside Danish friends and enjoy Champions League football.

It now remains to be seen whether Trabzonspor will move for him or Tuanzebe, with both players on their list of options and efforts set to be made.

First rule of business always reject the first offer.

If they're truly interested they'll be back with an improved offer.

Don't care if they're truly interested or no. Just offload him asap to anyone that fronts up with the cash.

Besides, why give a suitor space for 2nd thoughts. Bite their frekkin' hand off!

Well yeah it is, we brought Congerton in because he was Rodgers man. We’ve got rid of Congerton and the club have now removed Brendan’s heavy influence on recruitment after last year’s shit show.

We didn't get rid of Congerton at all. He was offered another job and accepted it. Had he not he would still be here.

do you know that for a fact? maybe we told him we weren't going to renew his contract and he found another opportunity as a result.

maybe he was under performance management.

it's no more unlikely than your scenario.

So that’s not the manager then is it.  lol

To be fair, Rodgers has publicly spoken about his transfer philosophy.  He favours talented players that have flopped or never fulfilled their potential at other clubs.  He calls them 'silver medallists'.  If you were being unkind you could say that his plan is to take other clubs' dead wood.

I think it would be naive to believe that Rodgers does not have major input into signings and it is not a coincidence that bad signings have followed him around during his career, it is a pattern.

Wow....I genuinely thought that he didn't know that all those flop players he signed were flops 🥴

Never disputed he is involved and perhaps significantly, especially right at this moment, but I get weary of the manager, Rodgers right now, being the sole reason for recent failures as this is just an overly simplistic outlook.

Vesty is as good if not better. Brentford really should sign him before he’s snapped up by a bigger team. Be a shame to let him go…

Yup. Sorry. He’s twice the player in height alone. They should definitely snap him.

Not a position I would leave someone in I was not happy with. Pay him up and get him out.

Possible for him to cause damage while hes hanging around.

I assume trabzonspor ( sounds like a pharmaceutical product) are on a par with other Turkish sides so far as willy pulling and time wasting are concerned

Vestergaard should become a goalie, would be like a lanky shitter allison with his passing abilities 😂

you reckon he’d dive down like a fast geezer to get them saves? Or leap like. A gazelle to collect a cross?
