Cannot believe how many ACLs have occurred at the club in the past 3-4 years. Does anyone have a medical explanation? Always viewed it as more of an unlucky injury rather than one from neglect.

Often sideways movement of the knee, sometimes involving a tackle. Common in football players. Hope this helps.

Would be interesting to note how many ACLs have been sustained through impact or just freak injuries.

Alves - horrible challenge

Pereira - impact (but carried on playing?)

Fitzhugh - unsure

Justin - innocuous

Barnes - innocuous

Braybrooke - innocuous? Unfortunate?

Who else am I missing?

Barnes wasn't an ACL.

Wes wasn’t ACL ?

the grounds staff made great play of the quality of belvoir drive training pitches- it’s inconceivable that they aren’t doing the same at seagrave

it’s either player loading or they aren’t doing the right strength and conditioning work to protect the knee area - of course there are instances which are unavoidable like alves but some of these ACL’s must be due to muscle weakness -

They cant exactly account for the ball getting stuck under his leg when he makes that turn and causing him to go over on it can they?

No just saying if you're putting repeated pressure under something it's going to be weaker when something untoward happens.

Said it before a few times. Look at the injuries in the NFL and look at the technology used at seagrave in the turf along with a lot of the pitches now in the prem.

It's ridiculous that so many are doing their ACLs etc. And not just our players.

Is there something special they have in the NFL? Or do they also have the same problems? Genuinely curious.

Arsenal relaid the their training pitches a few years ago as the hard substrate was causing excessive injuries.

There is probably an issue with the pitches we have and the BR training methods.

Neither Alves' nor Braybrooke's injuries occurred at the training ground.

It is possible that seagrave/the training has caused excess stress to the muscles and the repercussions of that surface elsewhere.
