Ben Petty might not want free up his main lads though! The u21s got a relegation fight on their hands. The 18s lads are going to have to mature quick in the coming weeks. They are going to be called upon due to major injuries in 21s

its not his choice if Brendan wants them in the first team they go to the first team

Is there something special they have in the NFL? Or do they also have the same problems? Genuinely curious.

The mixture of plastic and grass used in the NFL in some grounds and the use of artificial grass is causing a massive raise in ankle and knee injuries. Players and taking clubs to court about it too.

Quite a lot of articles and reviews on line.

There are 3 other ACL injuries, noting in addition Bayli just returned from one  and others with MCL so huge number in that dev squad with knee ligament injuries……..

...this is also quite prevalent in the women's game!!!

It comes down to practices and what conditions we play in, it cannot be put down as bad luck. There is a reason that this is happening, someone will finally uncover the reason, it seems the whole game needs to take a look at what they are doing.

It appears Will Alves contract is up this summer, bizarre that pur biggest talent wasn't given the maximum 3 years when he turned 17.

If that was his choice to only sign for another year, I do wonder what the future holds for him with us.

Didn’t know that, bit of a worry tbh. It’s imperative for a club like us to be able to produce talents from the academy and keep them

Surely can’t be the pitches don’t we run a Sports turf academy?

.. I  remember the Tigers had issues in getting their pitches right because of repetitive injuries!!!

There was constantly injuries attributed to playing on other clubs artificial surfaces, and they have strived to get their surface right, in respect grass and plastic.

It could be what they are doing in respect of the mixture in the surface.

Teams playing on AstroTurf had little or no issues,  but as soon as a player who is not used to it they develop problems.

Possibly, but I’m not sure we can blame Seagrave or the training for Caden Voice’s horror challenge on Will Alves.

Aye. That's an exception. But the sheer number of injuries we experience is both depressing and bizarre. There should be an investigation. I'd be interested to know how we fare against other Prem clubs.

He’s going to be out way into next season so surely if we offer him a new deal he takes it. Otherwise he’ll be jobless in the summer and won’t get a new club for a while :dunno:

Yes you'd hope so, I'm just quite shocked last summer he wasn't given the maximum 3 year deal. Either the club or the player must have chosen that decision which isn't great.

Looks like Wanya may get a chance to be involved at some point

Short on wingers?

“We had a really positive window. We tried to get another in to provide competition. Marc I’d made a promise that he could go. We have options. Praet has played there, James has played there. I’ve been impressed with young Wanya. He’s a winger as well. He’s shown up very well in training. I’ll look within. I’m confident we have the squad we want.”

If Wanya stays fit I think he'd show up well in the first team to be fair. Got a bit more robustness and guile than for example Maswanhise. He's also extremely talented. Good to hear.

Always got impression Brendan has liked him! If he was fit at the start of the season he may of had a look in so far!

If he does start being involved it will also help with how versatile he can be

Pretty sure I have seen him play everywhere except in defence

I always felt that Wanya looked talented in the u21s but never stood out like Braybrook, Alvez, Barnes, Hamza did. But then I never thought KDH stood out so we can only hope he reaches the same heights. I can't remember Wanya getting any first team minutes unlike some of the others so I'm not sure how keen Brendan is.

He came on at half time in the FA Cup vs Watford last season and played pretty well.

Brendan  saying that translates to sticking him on the bench but not have the balls to actually play him unless there’s 100 injuries

.... or winning 5-0 going into added time.

Ah I recall now. He's one of the lads I feel we should be better serving: clearly talented but I'm unsure if he'll make it.
