OH Leuven Thread 2022/23

He's been a rotation player at Ferencvaros, averaging about 25' a match.

He was such a good player at OHL.  Why did he leave?  Because a club in a one-team league used some CL/EL euros to give him a raise to ride their bench?

He didn't get enough playing time in the CL to break a sweat.

Presumably because he was too big an influence both on and off the pitch. It's a bit of a weird thing, but I believe it was a matter of him being too dominant in the team, which was okay when he turned up but the downside of that was that in the game where he was not playing well, the entire team suffered because of that (as everyone would just keep funneling the ball to him even then).

Either way, Mercier wouldn't have made the difference imo. It's not the fact that we're not creating chances, but we're just having a really, really hard time scoring. Should have been (at least) 0-3 up yesterday at halftime. Also hit the bar twice.

1-1 final score, probably a deserved result although we had the best chances at the end. Opoku's first minutes, looked solid although he still needs to get used to the higher intensity.

I presume he's only just got his first 7 minutes or so because he's building up his fitness?

Is the feeling with him he'll make the starting line up in a few weeks?

Hard to say. Gonzalez twisted his ankle in training so I'm assuming he's sidelined for a few weeks. And he had been playing like a wet paper towel before that. Nsingi had a good game in my opinion but his technical limitations keep posing problems.

Either way, I wouldn't rule it out but it's very hard to say. :)

New manager, a new board with actual experience in the football world and negotiation skills, and a transfer budget to do something about having to get in free players so we can actually get the players that we need. If you tell the supporters you want to become champion of Belgium you have to act like it as well.

Who is on your board? Is it the same members on the Leicester one?

He looks promising, can see why Leicester snapped him up. Needs to get used to the intensity of player at a higher level, but looks like an excellent athlete (something which the US does excel at). Great balance and control over his body, and looks to have good feet too.

I agree. I suppose he will not start yet this weekend since Brys put our right back in the striker position last game... **** knows what goes around in that man's head sometimes. He probably can't handle a full game yet but I rather have an actual striker than a right back to attempt scoring goals.

Nsingi out for eight weeks with a torn hamstring, looks like Opoku might get his chance sooner than anticipated.

Called it, he's starting.

...it might be a blessing in disguise. Nsingi playing wide is poor at supplying and just another wasted player in this team!!!

Nsingi wasn't playing wide, but in a central striker role. And doing very well in the last to games too..
