Just a theory Hopefully this isn't true. You can only go so long without investing in the playing squad and progressing as a club before the fans turn. I feel like we've had our moment in the sun and now the priority is to not get relegated which isn't what people want to hear but that is the first primary aim of all clubs at our level and below. 7th or 8th place finish next season will be what we can expect. At any point there is a fair chance that at least two of the big six will be undergoing major changes to their squads. That is the time when we again have a chance of making the top six. I dont think a club with this aim would have given the manager such a large contract. We are doing things the correct way, lets not mistake that for a lack of ambition. Our owners realised a long while ago that money doesnt guarantee success, they want smart sustainable business... So do we. The reality is, that even if they did want to pump money in, we are still not going to be anywhere near to the clubs we are trying to chase down.
