Women’s Euro 2022 - Hosted in England

Recommended Posts

Having watched several of the matches, I now think that the mens game has a lot less to offer.

Not only is some of the play skillful, we see none of the player antics as is prevalent in the mens game.

No feigned injury with players rolling around as if mortally wounded.

No constantly surrounding the referee and complaining about the decisions taken.

As such less stoppages and more free flowing football.

All in all far more entertaining.

Time the referee's tightened up on dissent and time wasting in the mens game.

We may see far more and better football.

Tbh, I do try to watch them as different games, each offering its own pluses. That is difficult of course but I have consciously stopped comparing. I like the women's game for what it is. The standard, at the top levels, is excellent and will only get better.

The French side are about as good as it gets at the moment.

In Europe perhaps, the US would wipe the floor with them IMO.

Really exciting end to end stuff this. Really like how the womens game hasn’t been overly technically coached yet so the directness has been coached out the game as it has the mens game these past 10 years

Count yourself lucky you haven't seen the CONMEBOL (South American) Copa Feminina.

I watched the semis hoping to see a high standard of football.

What I saw instead was a standard of diving, timewasting and shithousing that would put a lousy Central American men's side to shame.

Thank your lucky stars it hasn't reached Europe yet.  Get one of their coaches in charge of a major European womens side and the genie may be out of the bottle.
