22/23 Injuries Thread

Recommended Posts

Barnes?

“He’s available for selection. He’ll train again today and if there are no after effects, he’ll be available.

Evans and Maddison?

“Tomorrow will be too soon for Jonny. Madders did a gym session and will train today. I’d expect him to be available.”

Vardy?

“His ankle is fine. He’ll be training this morning. He’s available for selection which is important for us. He went into areas where we wanted him to go. We saw the runs he made for Tete’s chance and for the penalty. They’re the sorts of runs he needs to make.”

Iheanacho?

“He’s not great. He’s got a tear in his adductor muscle. It puts him out for a number of weeks, but not the end of the season. It’s going to be tough to get him back."

Other injuries?

“Jonny we’re hoping to have training tomorrow. He’s had a viral infection and then a calf injury. Ricky we’re hoping will be back soon.”

How can you have a viral infection?

Would you go away to Newcastle with 3 CBs if Evans is available, try to shut them out as we tried (twice!) vs Man City but they're not Man City so it could work? Could have said vs Fulham but need the win really now :dunno:. A back line of Ricardo, Faes, Evans, Soyuncu and Castagne with an actual goalkeeper behind them could do it?

Absolutely not. Evans hasn't fancied it all season and was horrific when he was fit. He shouldn't be anywhere near the 11.

Didn't expect there to be any chance that Kelechi played again this season

3 at the back with wingbacks would be tempting there, particularly since if we're honest none of our full backs can defend, but I don't think you can do it with Evans given his injury history and the time it takes him to get up to speed. Souttar maybe but I think he'd struggle against Isak
