That was not about mentality ! It was directly related to Rodgers making a dogs breakfast of his substitutions !! He set up the players for failure.

A set piece coach is an addition not a replacement .

Why do we need to bring in someone on thousands per week just to show the players how to not sh*t the bed when defending a corner in the first 10 mins of a match?

...when the people responsible are deficient in imparting the necessary information, then you need someone who can do so!!!

  This specialist coach may also be someone who can impart additional information to Rodgers and guide him in game management and tactics.He maybe the one to make up the flaws in Rodgers processes.

If we can afford it - which we presumably can, else we wouldn't be in the process of appointing one - why wouldn't you want us to have one?

I know this is tinfoil hat stuff but I'm not sure if this mystery coach actually exists. I wonder if this was said to make it look like a glaring issue is being addressed when actually it isn't or if they haven't yet identified someone who can do the job.

 

Can't understand why on earth it would take this long for whoever it is to join. Unless we're waiting for that person's contract to expire and / or their notice to be worked out but no-one has mentioned this and it was announced that Martyn Glover would join us at the end of his notice, so it's all just a bit odd imho.

 

Hope I'm wrong and happy to look an idiot but I have my suspicions.

Could be that they got peed off with the work permit issue and took a job on the continent instead …

The club I have to say really has brought a lot of this horse sheizer on themselves. It really does look sloppy. From last seasons diabolical incapacity to fix our defence on set pieces to contracts for specialists that get delayed for whatever reason/s. I just can’t see this much chaos allowed to ensue under Vichai. Heads would have rolled. The way he ran his empire there is no way he puked tolerate this much carelessness that ultimately puts the club in peril. Maybe Rogers doesn’t fear Top like he would Vichai. Kasper leaving just like that still boggles my mind. He will reveal all one day but won’t say anything as he still respects us and the clubs legacy which he will forever be a part of. Sadly we are in danger of becoming a soap opera. The media vultures will be circling soon.

I really do hope and pray top, Susan and the board have a brilliant plan B to save us!

...it would be good if the club had a Q & A session to explain this  situation!!!

  Obviously they will not be revealing the Rodgers contract but all the other things surrounding this club needs to be aired.

  The club's insistence on keeping transfer prices and dealings secret, have, it appears, to have extended to other areas. It is neither a good thing to alienate your customers and a suspicious fanbase.

Given the apparent problem with the club throwing cash at players and agents, they have probably found themselves paying the set piece coach since their appointment. 

 

Then they eventually do materialise, try to implement something and Brendan just says "Nah, we're not doing that!"
