Kasper Schmeichel officially joins Nice

High body fat, that's bullshit.

He came back a couple of seasons ago 2 stone lighter after changing his diet and training regime around. He's always trained individually because funnily enough at that age he might just know what his body needs to recover. The fact he went 149 games on the spin suggests he's right too.

Sounds more like one of those Euro sports paper hatchet jobs.

He is size XL shirt at the minute, I wouldn’t say it’s bullshit.

Probably a daft question on here but does ANYONE know why one of our club legends was able to creep out the back door to Nice, without having any sort of send-off?
I find it just wrong that this was allowed to happen

Kingy didn't get one, neither did Morgan. Players don't get testimonials these days just a warm handshake and 45,398 likes on their FB page.

Danish fans seem to think he's past his best.

No shame if he is at his age, to be fair. I think his underlying stats over the last two seasons for us were starting to dip. No doubting his departure has weakened us, though.

It's ashame the early signs for all parties involved look like this transfer isn't working out.

Every top club has specialist sports science and nutritional professionals working for them. It wouldn't surprise me if they've done their tests and kasper is carrying too much fat. He seemed overweight a few times for us too, but he had an easy ride here with Stowell being in his pocket and our owners doting on him. Nice aren't going to treat him in the same way and i wouldn't be surprised if they part company at the end of the season.

Great squad, proud club, amazing fans. Not one mention of Brendan again lol

I'm fairly confident he's left the club this summer because of Brendan. I challenge anyone to convince me otherwise.

I agree, you could tell he went from being annoyed about the fake news regarding his work ethic in Nice, to clearly looking hurt/upset once Leicester’s form was mentioned, almost like he felt responsible.

I do think there is something in the argument to reduce wages but nothing so far has suggested he was desperate to leave. The fact it was done after he'd played pre-season games is odd.

Kasper has been medium and large before, you don’t see many modern match worn shirts in XL.

Underrated post.  And so, so telling as to the state of the club.

FT has progressed from spotting Championship signings in Morrisons, to tracking the chairman’s jet during the window, to seating Big Daddy behind €40M Belgian internationals for in-flight updates.

And now we are … wait for it … gauging declining players’ fitness by rummaging through used kit listings on ebay.

Post match (Croatia-Denmark) interview tonite, I threw the interesting bits in:

Is it correct that you have been told that you have too high a bodyfat percentage?

- I think you know me well enough to know that I'm not the type to read gossip. I can't relate to that.

Are you late for training?

- Once ten years ago, when I was involved in a car accident.

- I have lived in this world all my life, and you learn not to read the gossip.

Does it annoy you that these stories are made up?

- The medias must have something to write about. I relate to the fact that I have played for 19 years, and if you call all the coaches, they will say that I am perhaps the most professional person they know, says Kasper Schmeichel.

Changing the subject, Leicester is currently at the bottom of the table, what do you think about that?

- It bothers me a lot, A LOT, because I know their potential is so much better than that. I know they'll get back on track, they have a great squad and it is a proud club with amazing fans.

Wow, says a lot he’s unmoved by personal attacks but one mention of Leicester and he has an emotional response.

Love this bloke.

Thanks for the endorsement mate, looking forward to more critique from you soon.

Presume you read the context of the post as well right? The one that said Nice are complaining he is too fat?

Generally speaking I’m sure you would agree that someone increasing a shirt size isn’t likely to be as agile and mobile as they previously were.

Kevin James , the actor , at his peak anyway , was as agile as a scared cat. He is built like a packing case. As a goalkeeper you don't run so much ,so aerobic fitness is not so vital. It has to said though that I am not a fan of skinny goalkeepers. Presence is important as Kasper's dad proved.
