Mobile - NFT Ticketing is SHIT

A place I worked in uses fingerprint scanner for entry. Wonder if the club is beginning to consider this - certainly fits their agenda.

We aren't allowed this anymore due to data integrity issues

Face recognition would be better photo id.

Face recognition is too unreliable to handle thousands of recognition request in short time as would be required in the 15 minutes to kick off. 10% failures on a 60000 crowd would leave 6000 challenges about 25% of those in that 15 minute window. Chaos and violence would ensue. In general there is nothing wrong with NFT it works in lots of applications. It’s humans that mess the system up.

They should have a device that stabs your thumb to verify ID by DNA analysis. It could also detect people on coke, alcohol levels and transmissible diseases from ruining everything for everyone.

Plus, in the future, if you weren't in the stadium by the time they wanted you there, they could 3D print a version of you to spend your money on merchandise and wave a clapper about.

There's a job waiting for you at the Club ...

I can't believe I'm reading suggestions for fingerprint and facial recognition when most of our fanbase can't hold a card under a scanner

You don’t hold it under the scanner, you place it at the top with the ))) signs, underneath is for QR codes, your phone has this on it if your NFT device on the top of the phone doesn’t work.

But card users don’t have this on their card so phones have a back up, cards don’t.

To quash a myth as well, if you’re still using a card as you don’t want to be locked out if the NFT goes down, well your card has the same system as what is in the top of smart phones to allow NFT, so if phone users can not get in neither can card users.

Anyone then saying well my card has my seat number on it so they can still let me in manually, well so does your phone in your wallet.

The only folks not wanting NFT are ones who share seats, no other reason really.

I’m surprised this hasn’t been changed/or mentioned yet. NFTs are a type of digital art (Non Fungible Token) - basically a stupid idea for people who think they’re going to invest in something and sell for a profit. NFC is what is used for ticketing (Near Field Communication). That’s what is used for ticket scanning.

Leaving this here first before one of you buggers does it. 😂

Im sure there was a case either last season or the season before when a mobile network went down and people on that network couldnt get in using NFT tickets

You don’t need network to open your wallet and use it, what probably happened is the fans hadn’t added it to their wallet before turning up, as soon as I get a glimpse of the stadium I’ve got zero phone data.

But as long as that match day ticket is in your wallet you’re in. Which loads automatically anyway after the first email link.

I was sceptical at first but no way I’m handing over anymore money just for a plastic card. My ST is all I pay out to the club, never buy anything on match day or buy anything from the shop.

Just a sidepoint to everyone - it's NFC (Near Field Communication), not NFT, which is that stupid pyramid scheme based around dumb pictures of monkeys and pixel art you can 'own' digitally.

Though admittedly, the shambles on Sunday probably means your season ticket is losing value at a similar rate to the latter.

I cant remember exactly what happened but all i can remember was the 1 person in our party who uses his phone couldnt get in but the rest of us with a card could. He had to go to the ticket office to get a paper ticket printed along with several others
