LCFC vs Southampton - Pre-Match Thread

Well with Fofana missing and Tielemans apparently not involved and Soyuncu out of favour, I think we will see:

                   Ward

Castagne Dan  Evans  JJ

Marc     Wilf      KDH  Barnes

             Maddison

                    Vardy

It would be utter madness to start Amartey in a back 4. Cags surely has to be given another go. Him and Evans have proved before that they can be an excellent partnership.

Both of them have at least 3 seasons of league football under their belt.

If he considers that as an excuse/inexperience then it shows why he's extremely reluctant to give genuinely inexperienced players a chance.

So league football at a much lower level means you're an experienced PL player?

Let's hope you don't get to pick the team.

I assume KDH and Justin won't make your pre match selections tomorrow then chief. Who's your preferred XI?

They will only become more experienced at this level by playing them, doesn't mean that Rodgers is wrong to point out that they lack a lot of experience at this level.

Ward

Castagen, Evans, Soyuncu, Justin,

Maddison, Ndidi, KDH

Perez, Vardy, Barnes

Is that ok with you chief?

I think he just said inexperienced. He also used it as an excuse for us losing.

My point was more than if he considers 2 lads with 3 seasons of adult professional football under their belt, it's not a surprise he has absolutely no trust in the academy unless he absolutely has to play someone.

That's not a bad team buddy! :D Swap me Daka for Vardy and i'm onboard.

Not a single block sold out. Really disappointing

Genuinely think they should put the extension on the back burner, it'll only get worse the way we're going plus various other reasons, most notably the cost of living crisis.

Besides if they're that hard up :dunno:

That email the club just sent out. If you read it insolation it makes you think do you really want to enter a place with that unfriendly approach and welcome.

Don't see how it's unfriendly or unwelcome. Informative at best/worst.

Guessing it's not a club decision either. Sounds like it'll happen across all grounds in terms of the drinks thing.

Amartey in a back four over Soyuncu would be madness.

I know Soyuncu had a bad season last season and we are trying to get rid of him, but needs must and he’s a far better option than Amartey.

I think they’ve had crossed words.

The extension is a long term investment that will last a lot longer than the cost of living crisis. By the time the plans are approved, work is done and the seats are ready to be sat in, we could all be better off financially and playing well again.

2nd home game of the season and I'm already not bothered!!!🤭🤭

It's either old age or just empathy towards football at the moment(Or probably lack of excitement  of the club!)

Evans and Amartey as the two CB’s.

We haven’t moved on much have we? Huth and Morgan were infinitely better.

Could be an interesting day tomorrow, we need a win just to cheer everyone up. Guess we must hope the players feel a bit galvanised after what’s going on and the body language will say a lot. I can see us winning 5-2 or losing   0-3

Southampton have their own issues so might not go for the jugular.

It’s simple for me Soyuncu in a two Amartey in a three. Soyuncu is good in a two but absolutely awful in a three. Amartey is just average in both.
