Popular Post Scrotnig Posted 28 May 2023 Popular Post Share Posted 28 May 2023 Hello. I’m a Stoke City fan who’s lived in Leicester many years now. So sorry this happened. I really hoped you’d escape. Many echoes of when Stoke went down a few years back. Sacking manager way too late, lacklustre replacement, players seeming not to care, etc. I hope you recover quicker than Stoke, we’ve only barely managed to avoid going down again and the club is stuck in a rut. The Championship is a shit league. Don’t make the mistake we did of getting a manager who splashed untold millions on terrible players who ended up not playing but still being paid years later. FFP then becomes a killer. Good luck! 6
ARM1968 Posted 28 May 2023 Share Posted 28 May 2023 It’s fair to be honest. No way we should have been in this mess but too to bottom (🤣) mismanagement had led us here. Stupid decisions made by halfwits. In business, and this is business, you get what you deserve if you keep making bad decisions. Players, of course, have not helped at all. Most of them have been piss poor and lacked professional pride. Sad, but not the end. We will rise again.

Dean Smith was a shocking appointment But our only option when we sacked Rodgers so late in the season. That’s the issue. Our options were so much better a year ago, even 5 months ago. With 10 games left we were going to struggle whoever we got. The players had gone.
Mick_1960 Posted 28 May 2023 Share Posted 28 May 2023 I'm gutted for you all. The only positive thing I can think of is that you could have a good season next year and I've always preferred winning in the Championship then losing in the Premiership. Look what Burnley have done with less resources than Leicester have. Get the right manager in and you can easily come straight back up.

You’ve highlighted being role model to clubs, are we? We’ve shown them all exactly how not to run a football club. Because we’ve over extended ourselves financially, we’re now in a mess going down….. some shocking decisions around loans has left us with probably no parachute payments. We’re heavily reliant on us selling all of our best players, to make money, which means we’re probably going to need at least 15 odd players to just have a squad. Legacy’s mean nothing if you can’t sustain it, there’s absolutely no reason for us to have imploded like we have, it’s unacceptable. Especially when 90% of that squad will go on to playing at top teams. We’ve basically shown everyone what you can do with a bit of belief, but in the same breath we’ve also shown everyone how not to run a football club.

Free Falling Foxes Posted 28 May 2023 Share Posted 28 May 2023 As bad as we feel now, we will come to terms with it, to a degree, during the summer. However, when next seasons fixtures come out and then the first home match, where you notice a fraction of the media coverage, photographers and cameras, it really hits you again. Bit of a warning to our younger fans

Kieran Maguire has recently commented on this - we can expect commercial reviews to be circa 40% of the PL. likely there will be redundancies on the non football side, We have 7-8 out of contract this Summer, a similar number in 12 months and few sellable assets outside of Madders, Barnes and Kels. Also we have raised loans against future EPL revenues with Macquarie Bank. It ain’t looking great tbh. Edited 28 May 2023 by JimmyC74
Tommy Fresh Posted 28 May 2023 Share Posted 28 May 2023 What winds me up more is that Rodgers has avoided having this on his CV. We should have kept him for the remaining games just so it would go against him

Also hope we get rid of he leaches who wont want to leave but again I doubt it. Nah! We're in more trouble than most seem to realise. All our best players gone. A load of muck that we can't shift on Champions League wages stinking the place out hanging around to collect their pension and our finances in turmoil so we can't spend half as much as we're expecting. Fingers crossed we get lucky and bounce straight back up as I don't much fancy administration and a season ticket in League One again.
