Walking around Leicester around 7pm last night was a sobering experience after four pints. People just looked done with the football. Party is over type vibe. 
 

Noticeable difference in our first few years of this top flight stint is that the city buzzed with the feeling of a match day. You knew a game was on. That’s slipped away, partly through covid. Yesterday had a big game feel in the stands and the balloon burst.

Within English football yes but sadly history tells us that when a ‘provincial’ club pulls off a league title, that it doesn’t last and there’s normally disaster around the corner.
 

Deportivo La Coruna - now third tier 

Kaiserslautern - now second tier after a spell in the third 

Verona - after 85, became yo-yo and then went down to the third tier

You need to get a new manager in asap and hope he gets them showing some fight. You have winnable home games and that's where your fate will be decided.

Yeah - Vichai was ruthless. He didn't hesitate to fire Ranieri at the slightest chance of relegation. Sadly, Top's been too indecisive and it's cost us dearly.

I’m convinced qualifying for the CL again would only have made our fall even harder and more painful.

Could have been Newcastle and Aston Villa in that list Matt mentioned. Not just provincial clubs that end up in a terrible state.

Perhaps the owners want relegation. Realistically to go back to being a top half table club we need to buy 2 strikers, a winger, 2 midfielders, 4 defenders and a goal keeper. 
 

the owners don’t want to invest 400M in the club and if we go down then it takes the pressure off them because the fans won’t be expecting Mbappe, Neymar and Lewandowski.

Doubtful. The market value of King Power’s investment will take a hit from relegation.

 

Think it’s just poor governance by the LCFC Board.

Mathematically still all to play for but yesterday was utterly abysmal. If the players can turn it around that would be fantastic but from what I saw on the pitch yesterday it looks beyond them. Maybe a game without gift wrapping the opposition goals would be a start....we need teams to gift us some to restore some balance in the universe.

The rot is so bad that the club needs a clean sweep "top" to bottom.

How could any owner want relegation? The fall in revenue is impossible to recover. The wage cost for our current playing staff alone could see us facing administration again when we were in the championship.

Half the squad are off or out of contract, the wage bill will be substantially lower.

Tickets will be readily available. Every time this topic comes up I'm not sure people realize how far the attendances fall off with relegation.

I believe we had gone after Southampton..but


Hope shines Eternal …so long as  there is a game & points (even GD)

I reckon we could get 2 of the old crocks in the championship…
