His dad had ambitions, they all laughed at him when he said he will make us a top 6 team in 5 years and he did that sadly the ambition died after that 5 year plan. It's clear that the reason we was successful was cos of his dad's plans. Am not one for the owners out as I do feel he has some feeling for the club but has no clue at all on how to take it to the next level and this is where he needs help. Some who truly knows how to run the club and someone with ambition for the club like his dad did. Not be okay with cow dung performance. Share what vision is for the club with the fans, get us excited. Tell the management and players what the vision is too and when the vision ain't being for filled grow a pair of foxes testicals and get rid of who ever doesn't share the same passion or love for the club. Bring back the fearless foxes. The ones the never quit even when we're down.

Can’t remember if it was Top or Rodgers but I thought the remit was to compete for Europe each season and in doing so potentially disrupt the ones above. Newcastles cash injection knocks us down a peg and with injuries and recovering from an awful start then top half would be a temporary downscaled ambition.

And there we are at home to Bournemouth no one wanting responsibility of having the ball, Vs Arsenal, not getting a shot on target, Vs Man City charging £65 to watch a training session defensive drill.

It was always going to be a unique season, lots of players we don’t want here who know we don’t want them here, not great for spirit and a huge waste of salary, I was resigned to re-set ambitions this season to survival but to answer the queries re Tops ambitions, last I heard it was generally to be in Europe every season but in recent program notes to move away from the danger to a more comfortable position.

Follow rodgers top.

Time is up here.

Yeh great idea…

Go from a chairman who actually invests in the club (signings, infrastructure) to one that potentially milks the club and we can end up like Derby.

We don’t even know the strategy for next season yet.

Until they stop investing im fully behind the ownership.

Being fully behind the ownership is one thing. Having blind faith is another. This talk about investment, how much, season by season has KP invested in the club. This is their business. The football club has generated sums over the last few years on its own - players sales etc. you use Derby as an example. Derby’s problem was they over invested without a proper planning (similar to us).

The King Power group cannot have Top as the head of this club if we are to progress. It can’t have a part time ceo. We are stuck with them but Top has shown he needs someone, once in a while to put him over their lap and bring him back to earth. We need an independent, experienced chairman, a ceo (full time), a cfo and a proper, experienced DOF. Top should take a ceremonial role amongst the leadership because he can’t run this club.

We do that, I can just about understand the faith. But this club cannot be ran with such disregard going forward. And faith in them should be conditional at all times. My fear is none of this will happen.

We’re all petulant baby men.

I hate the club, the players, the twat ex-manager, I think the board needs to be dissected.

BUT, we owe Top the opportunity to make this right.

Really? Do we?

Whilst no team has a god given right to be in the top tier, especially us, this should NEVER have happened.

Ultimately, Top is responsible.

And anyone who thinks we'll just bounce back is absolutely deluded.

At worst, we're the new Portsmouth. At best, we're the new Blackburn.

We've gone from the biggest fairytale in sporting history, to the biggest fvck up.

No one at this club as remotely the passion or fight that we do.

I’m in danger of falling into Perspective FC territory here, but yeah, I think so.

For what it’s worth, I don’t disagree with you whatsoever on any point you made.

However I think there’s enough credit in the bank to give them a chance. One season in the championship.

I Iiked your post because you do have a point, and, whilst a forum and people have different opinions, I'm not here for arguments.

But the only way we have 1 season in the Championship is if we get relegated again to League 1.

Seriously.

It's one of the most competitive leagues in the world.

I fear we'll be away for a long time.

So do I. That’s why they have to get it right next season. There has to be signs of progress toward getting out of the mire otherwise it’s time for wholesale change.

This is why we need the ownership more than anything.

Since Top has been in charge we’ve financially invested more than before Top. Some decisions made haven’t been the best but it’s the same ownership model that won us the league. The only difference is the management team went from signing up and coming players like Ndidi, Maddison, Ricardo to signing ‘established’ average Prem players for big money like Perez, Vestergaard, Bertrand. It is at this point we should have questioned the ownership model not now. Everything is easy in hindsight. Top and King Power only want the best for us of course. Even if for the reason it will cost them loads of money if we get relegated.

Its how the owners respond to this situation that I want to see. We can sell everyone and start again or try our hardest to keep the ‘good’ ones on longer contracts (Barnes, Kel, Daka) for a immediate return to the PL.

Quote this in 12 months time.

I hope you're both right.

Best opportunity not to fall into a financial black hole that in a years time, we will be. The best thing that could happen to this club is the family reign him in and stick some senior execs around the place. At the very least, run the place like a business. Which currently it isn’t.

So you’re saying he should have not aimed for progress and stopped investing?

Just remember its Leicester City FC and not King Power FC. We dont owe the owners a thing, they’ve benefited as much as they’ve put in especially in terms of brand recognition.

There is no sign the board or owners get it and ever will. If you think last summer was bad this one will be worse.

What rubbish. WE the fans could see Rodgers was incompetent even from last season he didn't. Nothing " unfortunate" about that just gross stupidity. You knew something was seriously wrong when Rodgers in the close season started spouting off about the great refresh and he obviously hadn't been told there would be no such thing. So the owner and the elite manager had zero communication on the subject of recruitment? The rest is history and it's goodbye Prem hello mediocrity.

...if you read my post back again I  was speaking about the idea behind Rodgers appointment, our failure to attain top 4, and at no time spoke about the last season!!!

Not sure if you were supposed to be replying to another post.

Top is ultimately responsible. If he's staying he first needs to sack Rudkin and appoint someone who knows what they're doing. Then if the ambition is still there, invest enough money to give us the best chance possible for an immediate return to the prem.  If he doesn't want to, or can't, he should sell.

Top will need to say something.   Many people could see where Rodgers was taking the team... and were criticised for speaking out, chanting or putting up banners ( @foxestrust).  The board hung on like a drunk in a casino hoping to win back their losses.... until they had to act (...but too late.... he needed a stop loss with 15 games to go).

So top has been badly advised and he must look at the people around him... yet he must also take responsibility.

Top is on the receiving end of the most expensive lesson in his life (... expensive in terms of money and reputation).

So what must he do to regain the trust of the club and the fans?  It should start with an acknowledgement of his mistakes and an undertaking to avoid any such repetition of such poor decision making.  (He will need to find the right advisors... set in place mechanisms to detect weakness and warnings... )

Simply saying he is determined to set thing right is not enough...  he needs to demonstrate his intent with real actions.
