Wishful thinking, probably on both fronts but certainly on Frank.  Why would he leave a well-run London club with a decent squad for a likely express ticket to the Championship?

For exactly the same reasons that anyone would leave us like a shot for one of the greedy six, even if they were below us in the league at the time.

I understand and agree to a point but there is no place for sentimentality in business.

Khun Vichai will always be a hero and a legend. Top and his family will always have the freedom of Leicester for what him and his family have done previously, but that doesn't mean we sit quietly by as he allows us to become a laughing stock and takes us back into the football league.

If we get rid of Brendan before Forest then we can still nip this in the bud, but if it turns out that Top still has misguided faith in Rodgers and his team then maybe he just hasn't got what it takes to succeed his late great father? What then?

There is sentiment if they’ve made a difference. They’ve done more for the city than some of the politicians…

I just feel very uncomfortable with all this

It's this "nice guy" mentality which has infiltrated too much of the club. We're pussies from top to bottom. We all want fight and determination but how can you expect it from the profile of player that we have and the set up off the pitch?

This nice guy mentality has even creeped into the stands. I'm not sure people that love a free t-shirt or fan cam have it in them to roar us through a dogfight. We need to appoint a bastard

To me this current situation as of today is on Top.  He could’ve sacked Rodger’s a month ago.  He is the one that is allowing Rodger’s to devalue his assets like Soy, which a sale could’ve covered his payoff. He has allowed Rodger’s and his staff to reduce this club to a laughing stock, to devalue the club and get us relegated which will have serious financial consequences.

There are have been several global issues that are out of his control but many that are like contracts, training ground, wages, loan structures.

Expect a week ban without a warning point for this one so somebody can feel important in their life.

Dear Top,

I too am a man who holds a woefully exaggerated opinion of my abilities. Frequently, when in a tight corner, I am able to spout nonsense and deflect responsibility for my shortcomings and project them on to others. I may not have met the Queen, but I did get run over by Jasper Carrot once, which ought to count for something.

Gripped by indecision, you should see me in the kitchen come tea time. With the range of options in front of me, I frequently go for standard beans on toast every time because I a) like them and b) who needs to spice things up with a change of approach to meals? Amirite?!

You can probably see where I'm going with this now, I am certain I would make a great continuity manager when you finally drag yourself to making a decision over Brendan's future. See, with me it wouldn't be scary change but just more of the same - but something that would confuse supporters and baffle them into silence.

I would be able to form a great working partnership with Susan Whelan. I know two Susans already, one is my mother and I'm married to the other one, and they both think I'm great.

Check out my post in General Chat, Top. You'll see I currently play football with Man V Fat and my team is about to lift the league, the cup, and the award for most combined weight loss. This is the level of expertise I can offer you. Ask yourself 'Has Brendan won a league title?' In fact, ask yourself any question and you'll find the answer is 'I should hire Dave as our new manager'.

My interests outside of football include playing Subbuteo, Football Manager, and socialising (which I think is another way of saying getting blind drunk a lot) - which means I'd be able to hit the ground running and relate to all of the squad.

Thanks for taking time to read this and I look forward to the contract offer.

Cheers,

Dave

Football fans and short memory syndrome.  It wasn't that long ago the club was pushing for champions league football and won an FA cup for the first time in history.  This is the first major bump in the road for Top and some are criticising him and throwing the " he's ruining his dad's legacy accusation".  These same people would have lauded him 18 months ago.  If I had the money the last thing I would buy is a football club, you could chuck bucket loads of money at it and still fans would still demand more.  It is like having a missus that is never happy with how much you spend on her or what you get her, she still wants more.

Not sure how many times I need to say this.

Top/The board/The club had two choices in the summer, back or sack.

The chose neither, it's no surprise we're where we are and I lay the statement 'we wrote this season off before it even started' firmly at their door.

I'm glad they didn't back him, but i'm fuming they didn't sack him.

We as fans could all see it, some of us much, much longer than others.

Why would a new manager of come in the summer if they have nothing to spend.what are they supposed to back him with, we have no money

The same applies now - So we'll attract no-one if we eventually sack Rodgers then?

Wrap the club up, we're dead.

Or is it a case of we didn't want him wasting any more money. We were told all summer we've got money, we just need to clear the wages.

Or, if we have no money perhaps it's time for Top to sell - atleast look at selling stakes to provide more financial backing - as the long term future of the club is in trouble if we truely do have no money, no?

The club always give longer to managers than the fans want to. See Puel and Ranieri alike.

It’s nothing to do with being a nice guy and is more about realising how big the decision is. Not just financially, but in terms of recruiting other managers etc. Plus, it is far easier to say when you don’t have a personal relationship and Rodgers has delivered him great results despite our current position.

It is a huge decision and we are far from being already done and dusted.

But they have backed him by not sacking him, and are still backing him right now. It’s implicit that if you don’t take action when objectively you should, then you are allowing the problem to continue with your consent.

Top needs to listen to us the fans now,

We've had enough of him and his backroom staff for nearly 2 seasons now but nothing has changed. With him in charge we would struggle in championship with these players.

I went to arsenal away and saw players just gave up because they didn't know what to do with no game plan.

Went yesterday and the game plan was the same.

He's the one that tells them what to do (ROGERS).

Chelsea weren't actually in trouble but sacked tuchel early, same as Bournemouth.

But us :dunno:.

TOP do it now,not tomorrow, not Tuesday.

The only way Top will listen to the fans is if they stop turning up for games.  You play your next home game to half full stadium, he will take notice.

How are you defining it as a bump? This "bump" has been going on for at least 3/4 years for our club to get into the state it currently is. That's p*ss poor management from top down.

With the international break now here then maybe that will give Top quality time to seriously evaluate not only this wretched season to date but last season in the main too re our defensive frailties still not being addressed in particular, despite the arrival of a new set piece coach! If still no decision is reached after the break and Rodgers is still incharge, then I think Top must now be holding out for the next three supposedly easier/winnable games (Forest, Bournemouth and Palace) and will then make a decision to stick or twist with Rodgers depending on the overall outcome of those three games - although I fear if we falter in all of those games too then it really will be too late to play any sort of catch up on a scale with the Great Escape season - regardless of a new coach being here by then!
