Are we really trying to buy players or we just going throw the motions to keep us fan kind of happy . We have been in for 4-5 players then other teams jump in and became front runners .
they way we are going we would be lucky to pick up a PRO at a brothel with pocket full of money 💰

Fans will be depressed we've missed out on signings but:

- Tsygankov has signed for Girona, a mid-table club in Spain. I would say that level is worse than mid-low table in the Premier League. So clearly a decent player, but not the next Mahrez.

- Piatkowski has signed for Gent, a Belgium team. One of the better ones, but not one of the major leagues in Europe.

The clubs to watch out for are the ones around us. Wolves have been very busy and using the Mendes casino to buy some high profile players. Sarabia I am jealous of, as I remember him having a great performance against us for Sevilla in 2017. Forest have tons of players, and the new Brazillian they signed is very highly rated. Bournemouth signing Ouatrra is worrying, as that strengthens them and denies us a player that could make a difference for us. So far West Ham and Everton have not signed anyone, though we know they are looking at players.

It is disheartening that we haven't signed anyone though. Southampton have brought a few players through the door and have found form. Wolves the same. We are standing still and it doesn't look good.

No one is coming are they 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

That's the real worry. I don't think we even need to buy players, we could just make some loans. But it is worrying that we didn't have players lined up already and so far have not signed anyone.

If we go down it's all on the board. You can't go backwards in the Premier League!

There is just nothing to look forward too. Losing match after match. Dejected players with no confidence. A manager with seemingly no clue how to fix it. A board that has disappeared and isnt fixing it either and now no new players.  I always try and find a positive or have hope but it really is looking very bleak.  The lack of communication is very telling......

Feels like us, Everton and West Ham are in some form of similar situation, perhaps  for different reasons though, whilst we are being frugal and extremely careful, Everton are genuinely in financially dangerous waters ands West Ham can see their direction of travel  with Moyes and are taking a breath.

Totally agree that you cannot hit pause in the Premier League, but this seems exactly what we have done for the last 18 months, and this coupled with Brendan's lack of evolution has marooned us in these choppy waters  :(

We are truly in the banter era of this club, Piatkowski supposed to have signed on the dotted line, turns out it was for Gent. Fiorentina want £40m for some injury-hit fraud. We scout Ouattara and the Bournemouth owner buys their club and hijacks the transfer.

You have to laugh.

The story of the season is the lack of communication, it's really poor leadership. If Top came out and told fans at the start of the season that in order to pay for the planned stadium improvements there would be limited investment in the team, fans would understand it and get behind the club. Notes in the program at the start of the season does not count, that's as half-hearted as it possibly could be.

In our first season up, we knew it would be tough but the fans got behind the team. The lack of communication means fans feel disconnected with the club, a cardinal sin. We can get out of a relegation fight if are all pushing together. Instead we are being ignored. It's both disappointing and frustrating.

This is where the net spend argument actually does come in. Ours is lower than Everton and West Hams by some margin so in theory we should have a lot more wiggle room than these clubs but we are being way more cautious than they are.

It all points to there being a deeper issue at the club that nobody from up high is willing to address.

Wages would be my guess, and these obscene UEFA turnover to revenue rules that will be bent into the Premier League over the coming years

Our shocking husbandry of the wage budget and our inability to "take out the trash" leading us to point where we cannot risk infalting our wage budget further, of course such ruoles merely seek to retain the status quo under the guise of responsible ownership.

It all feels very inevitable in its current state, we are more than halfway into a seemingly crucial window given our horrendous form and stacked injury list, and yet nothing other than some twitter rumours for a handful of players, who have since gone elsewhere or 'aren't for sale'. Club is only going one way and will continue to do so without reinforcement I fear.

I can see the point but if cash wasn't a problem and wages was the most simple solution exists and its not been used. Sack the manager whos not performing and on 10m a year.

The problem we have is that we don't have the cash to hand or wage budget wiggle room.

Sarr. Aston Villa had £25m bid accepted last window. He’s both younger and got more experience in the prem than gonzalez. We all know it makes far too much sense….

He was crap in the PL though weren't he? One decent game vs Liverpool the year they went down under Pearson and then the season after they got promoted again he hardly lit it up either. I'd not go anywhere near him for more than £15m, he's got a hell of a lot still to prove.

I think crap is a bit harsh Ric. Agree he has a bit to prove though. No bad thing

Yeah it was harsh, apologies. He's certainly raised enough question marks and even in the Championship I'm not blown away by his goals and assists return this season including penalties.

Can we loan Cole Palmer from Man City? He is not playing very often and is mainly on the bench of late, and not coming on

He'd be a great signing but I think he gets just enough game time that Pep wouldn't want to loan him out. I'd be having a look at Carlos Borges or Oscar Bobb though!
