Forest [H] Pre Match Thread.

Recommended Posts

Dreading this game. The mental anguish about whether to just sack if off completely has been playing out for 2 weeks, but I know I'll want to watch it on the day.

Any of the following are destined to happen:

- N'didi plays, despite being a horror show for months offering no protection to the defence

- Some odd choice of a player playing out of position, like Luke Thomas at LCB.

- Lingard, who hasn't scored for a year, scores.

- When 2-0 down with 20 to go, we bring on a defensive midfielder for Barnes. Kelechi remains on the bench. We lose 4-0.

Sacking him after this game would genuinely take the piss…. After two weeks passed with ample time to get a new manager in to get stuck into the lads.

I would be more annoyed if he was sacked after this game to be honest. It'd be massively concerning.

At least at the minute, I can try and imagine that Top some grand plan that isn't immediately obvious. If he sacks him after the Forest game then it'll show he had absolutely no plan in mind and is absolutely winging it.

Perhaps there's a milestone in his contract that once passed means he'll get less compo. If so, hope that it's very close.

:dunno:

Wouldn't it be nice for one of those home debuts that we've had on occasion over the years with certain players where they become instant heroes. Wout Faes masterclass.

I'm so weirdly convinced he's gonna be a hit here. I really like a lot of the things said about him - seems to have something we lack in terms of leadership.

That's true. Some nice own goals and flick-ons from Vardy.

They are the things a set-piece coach can will work on. Every player has a responsibility & under Rodgers & Toure it's quite apparent the players didn't know what they were supposed to do. Offence is about flair & creativity but defence is about systems & responsibility. Coaches can hide behind a functioning attack but a poor defence highlights a coaches shortcomings.

To summarize ... Rodgers is clueless !!

Seems Top wants to gague the atmosphere first hand before making a judgement. Anything other than a win and surely he will finally act!?

Seems fair, I know it's massively negative on here to BR, but from what I'm lead to believe that hasn't been the case at the stadium, just pretty quiet, I've heard.

If that's the case as several journos are reporting, I'm even less confident Top knows what he's doing. If he needs 30k fans to tell him that being bottom of the league with the worst amount of goals conceded after 7 games in Premier League history isn't grounds to retain your manager, then may I politely suggest he shouldn't be making the decisions.

Cannot believe I am saying this, but I would actually change it up a bit, throw Mendy and Albrighton in. Limited footballers at this level, but you know what you are going to get.

I’d definitely play Albrighton.

He’s pretty much the only player that’s on Vardy’s wavelength. If we start with Vardy, I’d play Marc for that reason.

Get what you’re saying from seasons gone but those long balls he plays into the channel for Vards to chase doesn’t really come off now. That said I would play Albrighton. At least he gives a fvck.
