Reasons the board haven’t sacked Brendan

Let's be honest. We can't afford the £10m, that's the reason and we all know it.

Why would it cost £10m? If that’s indeed his salary then we are obliged to pay it whatever happens and this will have already been accounted for financially.

It has nothing to do with finances. Surely if we were that hamstrung then we would’ve offloaded players like Praet on the cheap rather than holding out for unlikely higher offers.

I hate the excuse as well. If it mattered that much King Power would still find the dollar to make it work, they are still billionaires, they can still loan the club money at a zero interest loan.

My Spanish team with its new manager have just sacked him after 4 games in. Winning 1-0 at half time and lost 4-1. Ok compo is prob a case of San Miguel and some nuts but the jobs been done.

Is it true what I’m hearing that we have won one away game in 31? If true shocking

Left field thinking

could there be a clause in his contract which limits his compensation if we spend a certain number of weeks in the relegation zone or at the bottom of the league ?

I mentioned this a while ago but with respect to time left on contract so are they waiting for a specific date to kick in?

Forest finished top six in their league last season

copper absolutely does not deserve the tin tac but it could be that organising that mass of players needs an older head

Yeah I agree. If Forest lose tonight the fans will be saying why did we give Cooper a new three year contract? Cooper will struggle with this level because of the level and the many many new players. An older manager with experience could have worked due to the ridiculous situation they are in.

The problem for Top, is if he can be convinced to pull the trigger, the next manager will never be as attractive to him as Brendan was. In his eyes, the next manager just won't have the credentials to deliver the long term dream.

In your opinion, what is the long-term dream for Top? It's no good assuming Top is a clone of Vichai, whose 'dream' it originally was - he was left holding the baby when Vichai died.

Top should be aware that managers come and go with increasing regularity. He should be aware, from his father's decisiveness, that there's no point in pursuing a failed club-manager relationship. He's allowed this situation to fester way beyond where it was apparent to many of us that Rodgers has 'fatal' shortcomings as a comprehensively equipped man for the job. It feels as if he's like a parasitic insect whose sucked out all the money and lifeblood of the team and is only sticking around for his salary or compo.

The dream is on hold for the time being. The aim should be about a. avoiding relegation and b. stability in the mid-table of the Premier.

If Top allows his liking for Rodgers to blind him to his obvious faults, then there's no dream going to be fulfilled. One man will have been allowed to damage it over the short-term and the recovery will take years.

Allo Allo! Maybe it has something to do with a strange incident in the Seagrave canteen involving a flying helmet, an egg whisk and a stick of wet celery?

Can only hope that Rodgers was the flying helmet.
