You’d think so although how many times have we seen clubs pull the plug on a deal because they couldn’t get a replacement over the line. Would be classic us. Theres been very little genuine noise about anyone other than Tete (and even that isn’t too credible) so I don’t hope we’ve not put all our eggs in one basket.

If Perez leaving is dependent on a new winger signing, we may as well resign ourselves to our Spanish number 17 seeing out his playing days with us. Aleksz Posted 24 January 2023 Share Posted 24 January 2023 I know a dampener have been put on things in the Tete thread and things on Gonzalez seem dead in the water, but there’s no way we’re letting Perez go unless we’re confident of getting the winger we want.

I’d get rid of the ****er regardless of if we bring anyone in or not. If we don’t either I’ll sit on the bench for £50 plus travel expenses or give an academy lad a go. lgfualol Posted 24 January 2023 Share Posted 24 January 2023 I reckon he'll start at the weekend. Might hurry up some deals if Perez manages to look half decent against Walsall.
An Sionnach Posted 24 January 2023 Share Posted 24 January 2023 It all hinges on the £2 million we are contracted to pay. If we let him go for free then another club will probably cover that. Trouble is our Thai friends don't like giving stuff away for nothing.

EnderbyFox Posted 25 January 2023 Share Posted 25 January 2023 (edited) Not sure how reliable the source is but looks like Villarreal have hijacked this. Ayoze Pérez (29 years old) is the footballer chosen by Villarreal to reinforce their attack, as Relevo has learned. The player from the Canary Islands had, for days, agreed with Betis to join the Sevillian team in this transfer market , but for it to be made official, one step was missing: that a file be released. It was a matter of time, because there are several Verdiblancos players on the starting ramp, but the days have passed and the people from Castellón have torpedoed an operation that was taken for granted. The formula is exactly the same that Betis had agreed, only the colors change. The forward, who ends his contract with Leicester at the end of the season, arrives on loan to Villarreal for six months without the English team receiving anything, beyond saving his token during that time. Ayoze's will was to return to Spain and Betis's proposal had completely convinced him. However, the wait began to be uncomfortable and in those days that passed until everything could be made official, something unexpected happened: Danjuma (Tottenham) and Jackson (Bournemouth) left the yellow submarine in a matter of hours. Setién, although he understands that the economy comes first, asked the club for some reinforcement so that these casualties are as little noticeable as possible and with Ayoze they have found the perfect solution. The footballer had had little prominence with Leicester this season: barely 700 minutes (in 13 games) with one goal and another assist. For a long time his will was to return to Spain and last summer he sounded for clubs like Real Sociedad or Celta, although no operation was crystallized. A few months later, he finally fulfills his wish. https://www.relevo.com/futbol/liga-primera/ayoze-perez-cambia-betis-villarreal-20230125102226-nt.html Edited 25 January 2023 by EnderbyFox
