Same, Maddison for mount and this team would be really good.

It’ll be Foden for Mount when he’s fully fit. Maddison is around the squad.

5-1 Rashford and that is a tidy finish

If you have to cancel one of those subs to take Maguire off, why would it be Wilson you cancel?

I don't understand why Southgate doesn't take as many opportunities as possible to give as many minutes as possible to alternatives to Harry Kane. Kane is obviously world class but what happens if he gets an injury and you've never bothered preparing for life without him?

Foden and Grealish aren't exactly going to tell you anything new, you know what they're going to come on and do in an England shirt.

Because Kane won’t want to come off

Literally the whole point of the World Cup is that these sides get a chance to play just as much as anyone else.

If you can't get behind that I really don't know why you're watching any world cup, regardless of whether it's this one.

Next you'll be moaning that non-league sides have no place in the FA Cup. Literally the whole point.

Not really in Qatar's case - the whole point is that teams have to qualify first. Bit like how all those minnows pulling off giant killings in the FA Cup 'proper' have been through multiple qualifying rounds to earn the chance. Coalville didn't get their tie against Charlton based off of vibes, they beat some damn good teams to get there.

The closest you get in recent times was South Africa, but even they weren't a bad side by any means, just perhaps victims over the years of the super-congested AFCON qualifying process. They came out with four points. I'd be amazed if Qatar manage four shots on goal all tournament.

Iran, fair enough, they actually are one of the best teams in Asia despite their woeful first half showing and negative set up. Qatar? They will never qualify by normal means - they're there purely based on throwing money at slimy people. After this farce of a World Cup is over, they will never be seen at one again.

I’m not so sure they won’t be seen at a World Cup again.

They’ve been recruiting players from other nations, similar to the Germans in the early 00s. They’ve built a half decent academy setup and have won a few Asian youth tournaments.

They’ll improve to where they are now. It’s the journey for them, not the here and now.

Increasing the number of teams at future World Cups as well aren’t they. So will be easier for them to qualify
