FYP.

Come on, let's maintain at least some air of mystery!

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the number of folk who are vocal about how they think he's being victimised because of his politics outnumber those that assume he's done something bad by quite a lot

Of course, but Farage knows he doesn't have to say what really is, just instead spin a story of "truth" that those who believe him blindly will buy into.

In this digital age, that's all he needs.

Banks cannot exile one of the country’s most prominent political voices. It is not in the remit of banks to decide who can and who cannot operate in this country. Is having a bank account not a fundamental human right? Sovereign is he who decides on the exception…

More than likely Farage is lying so that he can make his merry men think that the world is against them. Putin, Trump etc they’re all at it.

WTF has the daft **** done now?  I'm guessing something to do with payments from countries we're not supposed to be doing business with.

At least he's not drawing attention to it

It’s clearly Pt.1 of a new grift.

Expect him to be selling monkey pictures for a legal fund to the brainless very soon.

Banks can choose who they have as customers, and often choose not to have a customer who they perhaps don't like politically.

Multiple banks at the same time?

That then begs the question as to why do this now, and not last week or next month.

Well no, he was told his accounts would be closed by one bank (Coutts by the sounds of it) and then has applied to other high street banks who declined him an account due to their PEP policies.  I am sure there is a private bank out there who will welcome his business.

Banks often close accounts - especially for people who live overseas.  My wife had her Natwest account closed due to lack of activity.  Presumably they also review customers who are political to see if they want to be associated with them.

Then it sounds like there is a good reason for the banks to refuse him service and this is about preventing him the opportunity to launder dodgy cash, rather than any political motive.

PEP is literally about political motive.  They don't like his politics and choose not to be associated with him.  Their choice.

A PEP (Politically Exposed Person) is an individual who has a high-ranking job in a government or some other type of political position. In other words, it’s a person who possesses a certain form of political and institutional power.

Because of that power they’re considered high risk in relation to money-laundering, blackmail, bribery and other types of corruption – both voluntary and involuntary.

I don't see how this is to do with his personal politics, instead more about preventing corruption.

But surely it’s a private matter? And while Farage is not a palatable person, he’s hardly bad enough for them to do that.

Maybe because he takes money from Russia Today and other sanctioned people.

The fact we've let an enemy directly interfere in our politics and government is a stain on this country's history that's as big 1066.

Yet because it involves people life Boris and farage we're ok with it.
