I was told today by more than a few people the same name as to who this person is in the BBC.  But it's no where on any news sites.  Odd.

It won't be, it can't be, as they haven't been charged with an offence. If they are named by the media, the person could sue them. Likewise, you or I if we named them online.  It's an alleged incident at present.

Why they can't be named. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-66148321

The person maybe forced into a corner by the allegations and if they are proven to be true, resign and fall on their sword with a Philip Schofield "unwise but not illegal" (yeh, right!) and don't want to damage the brand type thing.

Whether or not the presenter did anything ilegal is one thing, you can be a sleazy scumbag within the law and if you're legally procuring teen porn on the side it's probably not the first and only time. The fact that he approached someone on a dating site then "threatened" them when they threatened to out him is also not nice behaviour but also probably not illegal, unless they were death threats.

Where did the Welsh presenter's name come up from? What made people thought it was him?

It seems like the people mentioning names are picking a name out of a hat..

This is making social media a cess pit for fake rumours/news on this front.

He's probably being mentioned due to his sexuality and being quite young.

People really need to be careful on speculating, as incorrect rumours are bound to have a bad effect on the people being wrongly blamed.

I don't think you are thinking of the same Welsh presenter that Stan is on about, in fact I have no idea who you are on about. The one who's name has mostly come up is neither publicly gay nor young.

Without knowing more details, I'm not sure I understand the accusations of this second story just from reading that article, unless it's implying something I'm not seeing. Sending someone swear-filled texts after threatening to out them as gay doesn't sound like much of an actual story, unless, as you say, they were death threats, threats of violence or hate speech, but I feel like the article would've likely mentioned if they had been, it doesn't seem to suggest they were. Only other thing I can think of is when he said he would out him, he meant for more serious allegations, but the article doesn't really seem to suggest that.

I added a Cryptic clue yesterday night to the name of the presenter and my post was deleted. However, other posters on this thread have mentioned words such as the the news, Welsh and the Kings Coronation  yet their posts have not. How very odd the Mods are

If there was any evidence of a crime, the Sun would have shared more of it in their really very thin story.  This second report is essentially "I met an older bloke on a dating app and when he came round nothing happened".  I feel for the guys family but this really isn't news.

Which is why the Sun printed it.

Not-news that generates clicks unfortunately sells.

So the rap sheet against this TV presenter is:

1. He went on OnlyFans and paid a performer for private content

2. He met somebody on a dating app who threatened to expose him publicly, and he got a bit angry about this

3. He met another person on a dating app and visited their home during lockdown, but nothing much happened

Is this it? Is there anything else? Did he meet a fourth person via a dating app and buy them dinner but choose the underwhelming second cheapest wine option? Did he meet a fifth person and tell them an appalling dad joke? I think we have a right to know…

Married TV presenter. As much as he probably hasn't done anything technically illegal he's still cheating on his wife which is a shitty thing to do.

This all does sound like stuff thatisn't illegal, buy that doesn't exactly fit in with British moral sensibilities about sex. And that of course is entirely down to the beholder.

My personal take is it's really no one else's business and the Sun are in it purely for base purposes, and possibly the mother is too.

Dan Walker reckons there'll be a relevation on the late news tonight, according to his Twitter.

Edit: Apologies; had read it again and he was referring to last nights' report and not laters'.

Reckon The Sun is either making some of the things up; or is holding key evidence back for some reason.

And is not even vaguely public interest or anyone's business.
