I was at the hull game and couldn’t believe that although I was in Sk1 and even just about 6 seats away from the perimeter, how out of touch I felt with the section itself.. where I was looking to stand everyone fell down as soon as it kicked off so I had to sit.. this conversation is going round in circles and one that is screaming out for rail seating so if you don’t want to stand then alternative seating can be found. It doesn’t have to be the whole kop, but sk1, g1 and g2 like at old Trafford or Celtic.. I believe the atmosphere would improve tenfold.. its a way of juggling the fans around and those who want to be quiet and sit can do so somewhere else.. just a thought 

Listen, I have sat in my seat since the ground opened. I own it. I have friends that sit round me who I like to talk to and swap knitting patterns with. We share tea, biscuits and sweets. I will not be told by anyone that I have to sing, stand up or even wake up when I occasionally doze off.

I would rather die than sit in any other seat but that exact one. My commitment to that bit of blue plastic cannot be questioned.

Just interested as I don't feel Matty James deserves particular appreciation.

So much potential to have a really good end behind the goal but far too many just aren’t interested or are too stubborn to move anywhere to let others have a go. 
 

Unrealistic but if we do end up getting a fairly good team at home in the cup this season i’d like for them to open up the ground for all STH’s and not give people the option to buy ‘their own’ seat. Free for all for an entire couple of blocks of people who want to get involved.

I agree that the social media craze for 'limbs' has gone too far now, however the OP's point still stands. Some of our last minute winners have been celebrated by the kop (sections that are seen on TV) like it's a pre season goal against Port Vale (no offence PVFC). It's depressing how little some of our fans seem to actually support the team. Same goes for away games; why travel all that distance and spend all that money to sit down for 90 mins, not sing, and offer a cursory clap when we score? Think for some going to football is just something to do/part of their routine.

I think it's maybe more to do with the clientele that are sitting behind the goal in the Kop. I've sat in a few different areas this year (A1/A2/G2/M1) and every time we've scored everyone's been up on their feet, celebrating and supporting the team like always.

 

Maybe some of the STH's in the SK2/3 have been coming so long they've almost become desensitised to it all.
