Stadium atmosphere

What do people want? The 3 or 4 times we tried a longer ball tonight it bounced off the CBs and gave them possession back. Knock it down the channels for people to try to run on to? Teams just don't play like that anymore, aside from Dyche teams and the odd throwback like Wilder or Hodgson. It's hardly Vestergaard's fault if the strikers are standing ten yards off him or the opposition stick in two banks of 5 to try to play through. I'd love Pearson back here but the truth is his last two or three teams haven't exactly been producing title winning football. They've looked as predictable as we're supposedly looking at the moment. Predictable but apparently unstoppable.

It’s crazy, when we do launch in forward it almost always bounces straight back with either our fullbacks or CM out of position and exposed. It can be tedious for some us keeping the ball for prolonged periods but that is how you dominate teams and most of our goals come at the end of long periods of possession.

I find it incredibly uncomfortable watching our supporters walk out on 85, cringing like it’s a bad joke. The club need to acknowledge this now because it has got to the point where I believe it is detrimental to what happens onto the pitch, or at least counter productive to us potentially getting goals back or keeping a lead. That’s how important I believe the crowd was during the title season and the great escape. Of course the club won’t acknowledge it, instead they’ll keep investing in the show sec staff who occupy the space at the bottom, until they outnumber us at full time.

Watched some footage of home games from our title winning season and was shocked at how animated the crowd were ( not just the Kop end but every section fans were up on their feet, clapping and shouting)

Clearly the emotions and noise level were bound to be off the scale at that time given the huge prize almost within our grasp but I feel sad that on the whole so many sections now seem to be so flat and devoid of enthusiasm.
For me, (although our style of play is literally genius and is why we are where we are )I feel we give a lot of weaker teams too much respect.
I would love to see us mix it up and sometimes just go for it. Kick it long more if the opportunity is on. Get the crowd buzzing again.

Watching chess can be fascinating but sometimes we all need a bit more of an adrenaline boost!

Not forgetting we are all still recovering from BR squeezing every last drop of joy from us as well and that’s gonna take a while to put right

We were entertained then free flowing football, although it’s a results driven game, it’s has to be the most boring style of football we’ve produced in the last 15 years, I feel like we’re watching chess games for 90 mins.

Two corners of the ground singing or chanting different tunes has had a negative effect on atmosphere. Fact

Great contribution by L1 again (and SK 4) showing how it should be done.

The small singing section in SK1 try their best but surely physically or singing along with L1 makes more sense?

The murmured inaudible Winks epic needs binning

He's back! Good morning to the Keith Moon wannabe!

You always seem to moan at the singing section, how come? They are the only ones doing anything. L1 is a joke, maybe time to be a bit more honest than trying to belittle those making the effort?

Talking about bands, couple of years ago I went to an outside band day at Peterborough stadium and Becky hill was on stage. She was singing her well known wish you well song and afterwards said that the crowd was the most placid she’s ever played too.

If artists can feel there is no atmosphere on stage it can affect them as well as it can a team on a pitch.. it sort of raises the point that if you go to such events not to enjoy yourself, or one that complains about an atmosphere then why bother going?

I do not buy for one second that the crowd should stay silent until performances improve

Is this the reason why we keep on conceding late goals because there is nobody left in the crowd?

You've got a real problem with UFS haven't you?

Stop being a clown.

It was so flat, I don’t think the KP has ever been the loudest home support but we’ve had our moments.

I can’t put my finger on why it’s so quiet top of the league and walking it, it should be buzzing.

Even thinking about it from a commercial POV, the empty seats are surely a bad look for any business especially when they are performing so well? People up top have to do something which gets people to stay in their seats.

Seat belts and seat belt signs.

It isn’t so. During the great escape, all matches had tickets available for general sale. People were there because they wanted to be there, not because they hoped to have a photo of a moment at some point in the future for their Insta.

The people who proliferate now are like the cockends here having a pop at UFS. Thick, ignorant chubby little white men, dripping with their sense of entitlement and right to free speech. My experience is they are all those types who do their own research on the internet. We always used to have cvnts attending games, now we specialise in them.

The problem is not the style of play. The problem is that all these cvnts got season tickets after we won the Prem.

And they want to have one for when we have Premier League football next time, so they keep hold of it and go through the motions by attending games. They honestly probably don’t want to be there but enjoy telling their peers and colleagues that they’re going to the football.

I think the main issue is that our fans have been spoilt and we shouldn't be anywhere near this league.

I'm struggling to understand how the club let us get relegated and this season to me has been a total waste of time. I fully expected us to demolish the league with this team - this isn't to say Enzo hasn't done a brilliant job in doing this, but I'm not excited by it.

The club let us down and set us back several years by shocking mismanagement. This season to me shouldn't be happening and it's not something to get excited about. So to be honest I fully understand fans who bother to turn up, see us well up against some of the fodder I've seen in this league and want to get home early.

Might be an unpopular view, and it is a bit embarrassing watching it, but I get it.

Had to work last night, so didn’t even go. But can already tell you it was like a morgue in L1.

Genuinely made me a bit sad reading this. Such a disturbing portion of our fans are just this horrible combination of thick and arrogant and I really wish they'd stop coming.
