Here’s to you Danny Drinkwater, Leicester loves you more than you will know!

Was thinking about this song the other day. Such an underrated song and one of my faves.

It still kinda works when you look how his career ended up.

We can sing this about one of our current players now

I loved that song too. It was sung in the L1 concourse area in the Everton game with much gusto - it was on YouTube

I used to sing this in my head:

De Vries Lightning,

Burning up defences,

Vries Lightning,

De Vries Lightning....

i always wanted us to do an N'golo Kante chant to the tune of Wham - Everything She Wants

ah hah, ah hah, Ngolo, Ngolo
ah hah, ah hah hah
N'golo dah dahhh dah dahhh

some people might not like Wham though - but it's perfect for people not needing to remember lyrics.

It was one of those goals that you'll never forget

a cross from our Len and the balls in the net

One of those goals that you see now and then

And the spion kop knows that they'll see it aghen.

Or

Come on without come on within you not seen nothing like the mighty String.

Football fans used to have a breadth of knowledge that we do not see today - this is an example of economics, informing and educating the opposing fans of the plight they were in

This is an excellent point. You’re right. Like you said the chants represented the times!

If you listen carefully, you can hear it after our goals on here.  This was the game Bob Hazel got sent off, and our fans sung, "There's a brown man in the bath" to the tune of the popular song "Brown girl in the ring", at the time   Of course when Bob Hazel played for us, his song was "Who throws petrol bombs, Bob Hazel Bob Hazel"

Love watching highlights from Filbert Street. This was before my time as didn't start going til '91 but I'm surprised I've never seen that goal from Rofe before. Great goal.

That Dennis Rofe goal (video 3m 55s) was not only one of the best long-range goals ever ... it was also an absolutely crucial goal.

Up to early December we had been doing really well in the promotion race (Won 9 Drawn 6 Lost 3) are were top or thereabouts.   But then we had a bad spell ... drew at home to Orient 2-2, lost away to Charlton 2-0, drew at home to Cardiff 0-0 and lost away to Chelsea 1-0.    The goals suddenly dried up, for a team that had been scoring freely.

And 80 minutes into the QPR match, it felt like the wheels had completely come off the promotion push.  And then Dennis Rofe hit that 35 yard rocket.   Absolutely brilliant!  I was on the Main Stand terrace that day, and the ground erupted with that goal.

"Killer, Killer, Killer" at Andy Feeley.

The Laurel and Hardy theme when the police processed in behind the goal in front of the Kop.

"My old man said be a Forest Fan, I said f**k off, b******s you're a c**t"

When you're smiling, sung properly and at the right tempo throughout.

"Main Stand, give us a song"

"Stevie, Stevie Lynex, Stevie Lynex on the wing"

"USA, USA, USA" for Casey Keller.

"Bruno, Bruno, Bruno" for Heskey.

Th abuse hurled at Shilton whenever he returned to Filbert St.

"Tiptoe - through the Trent End
With a hammer - and a sawn off shot gun
Tiptoe - through the Trent End
With me"

Jari Rantanen:-
"Come on without, Come on within, you ain't seen nothing like the mighty Finn"
