alanf0x Posted 2 February 2023 Share Posted 2 February 2023 On the plus side at least we get to see Tete more often than not (until we burn him out). Unless Amartey gets shoe horned into a right winger to keep his place in the team…
Tuna Posted 2 February 2023 Share Posted 2 February 2023 Frustrating how close this was, could be a big moment in this season, particularly annoying considering we let Albrighton go presumably as we thought this one was happening!

Not quite - according to the article, we thought the deal with Harrison wasn't happening at the start of the day and had already agreed for both Perez and Albrighton to leave. NewquayFox Posted 2 February 2023 Share Posted 2 February 2023 Not forgetting that McAteer (might have had a chance of a place on the bench) had also gone on loan as well, seems weird that Harrison (apparently) was at Seagrave on Monday only for Leeds to pull the plug on the deal late in the dayl…
goose2010 Posted 2 February 2023 Share Posted 2 February 2023 apparently he was mid medical and Leeds changed their mind and offered him the same deal we were offering and he decided to take it.

When Leeds signed him I thought it was a good buy. English players always seem to command a premium. We could have done with another in given we have lost perez and albrighton and weren’t able to go for lookman.

An Away Move Posted 2 February 2023 Share Posted 2 February 2023 He could have stuck two fingers up to Leeds for their brinkmanship and leaving it until he was mid-medical with us.
kingkisnorbo Posted 2 February 2023 Share Posted 2 February 2023 What an odd string of events. Imagine how awkward it was in the doctor’s room as his agent walked in to take him back to Leeds
An Away Move Posted 2 February 2023 Share Posted 2 February 2023 Imagine the mentality to be mid-medical and walk away from it because your current club only matched the deal.

Which was very nice of the club. I just wonder how many other clubs would have chosen to be nice in this scenario, particularly if there was a clear risk of the squad being weakened. Didn't we grant Schmeichel his request to leave before his contract expired out of 'respect for his achievements'? Look where that got us.

Exact sort of signing why weve been in a financial mess instead of investing in young players with high ceilings Brighton and Palace style Edited 2 February 2023 by South Shire Fox 4
