Tim vickery who for me is the most knowledgeable,  cerebral man in football, also with a specialism on Brazil living there, said when we signed him, his problem has been in his career  you need 2 balls for tete, one for him and one for everyone else.

I love listening to him. What he doesn’t know about S American football isn’t worth knowing. And if Vickery says this about Tete, then believe it! Cos it’ll be true

On the flip side, that what everyone has done with Kristiansen in less appearances

”captain material” etc

There's a little more hope with him because he's so talented at such a young age, meanwhile it's more understandable to be skeptical of Tetê as he's 23 and Lyon were happy to terminate his loan deal. That said, he shouldn't be written off yet.

...if we decide not to take him on, that will be another team that has rejected him!!!

Will he be self aware that he needs to look at his game and break it all down. Much like Demarai Gray, he just believes he needs to be parachuted into a team that works for him. You need to work out how to adapt your approach to the game and you have to be honest with yourself.

He could choose to be a provider, see the runs and availability of other players and pick them out.

Our problem has been poor decisions being made in the last third,if he can adjust his game to be a provider, he would be a bigger asset.

He said that was the impression he had when he saw him play for the Brazil U20s, not an opinion formed over his career to date. He is indeed a specialist on Brazilian football but Tete has never played a senior game in or for Brazil.

I think the spirit of what he said was it'll be interesting to see how he gets on.

It wasn't like he was saying we have signed a star.

There is a player in there but he’s not the second coming of Mahrez as we hoped is how I’d view Tete so far.

But then again, I actually liked parts of Under’s game but like Tete they seem to have a couple of tendencies that you can’t get away with in the PL.

If the manager wasn't such a proven fraud I'd be having serious concerns on Tete. I mean the concerns are growing, I can't lie, but it's funny how the longer nearly everybody spends with this manager the worse they get.

Never a truer word. With Luke Thomas, he was obliged to play him when the injuries mounted up. He shone, match-after-match, for half a season, culminating in his significant participation in the FA Cup Final.

Now he's become a pariah dog for a certain section of boo-boys on this forum. But Rodgers dropped him for Justin, when he could have done both lads a favour by continuing with Luke and easing Justin back into full competitive Premier matches. Thus he's knocked back the confidence Thomas had gained and thrown Justin in at the deep end. With Téte, it's been the shiny new toy thing, where, instead of letting a new signing gradually assimilate, you put him in that extremely awkward situation of being the new saviour - as well as discomfiting the guys he's displacing and disappointing and those team members expecting him to take pressure off them.

I'm genuinely bewildered by just how stupid managers can be; how they manage to prove the Peter Principle time-after-time, never content with reaching that level where their talents outweigh their ambition.

Rodgers isn't capable enough to manage his players, their losses of form/confidence, their injuries and returns from injury, their antagonism et al. It's showing in the fluctuations of their games, and the general trend is negative.

look we’ve gambled on him now, no point giving up on it and trying something else. We need to give it time and brandan needs to do what he’s paid for and coach him into making better decisions.

The ability is obviously there. We simply need this front 4 to work and if brendan can’t get it to click then we are over and out.

The moment we give it up and switch to a 5atb i think that’s us done.

This is the equivalent of "don't stop gambling on that slot machine, the next spin could be a jackpot" lol

It's still very much saveable at this point by removing Rodgers from the equation.

Mahrez should never be mentioned in this discussion. Its over , for ever, we move on. I see Tete as a totally different sort of player. Demari Gray with more between his ears perhaps.

well if you could nurture a slot machine and help it improve. And that slot machine if used properly would then help make all the other slot machines better … then yeeeah

I know the perfect man for the job… Arnie Slot

Before you start hurling shit towards him, just remember that he’s joined a club on its arse being run by Ronald McDonalds shit cousin. No one can succeed in this current environment.

A bit crazy thinking we can go out and buy a roster full of PL players ready to hit the ground running. We don't have the funds. Going to be a very difficult few seasons ahead for those with high expectations of players we buy from all over Europe to fill all the open spots on our roster. This guy has all the attributes of a very fine PL player. Needs time to  acclimate. Same for Daka. Until Seagrave starts producing more PL talent this is where we are.

I think that’s how I see it. There’s poison at the club and my feeling is it permeates throughout the ranks, starting with Rodgers. And that no player is going to thrive whilst it’s like this.

We joked after Tete’s debut about how long it was going to take for Rodgers to ruin him?

Well it’s not taken long has it.

Tete looks a good player imo. He’s just playing for the wrong club at the wrong time.
