Has to be said that Nacho was an absolute beast. 

 

I've always doubted his ability to lead the line but he done it superbly today. Absolutely bullied some big lads and was involved in almost wvery chance we created. 

 

Also VK might be my new fav player. They targeted him and he was immense.

Watching our new players today gave me back some hope. I'm starting to feel excited and (cautiously!) optimistic again... Just hoping that what I see as the light at the end of tunnel won't turn out to be Brendan Rodgers flashing his teeth making excuses as we go down!  Onwards and upwards

All 3 of the new lads seem to be just what was required.  
 

We were under pressure at times and lost the possession battle (oh no gutted) but grit and effort.

Great away game at the Villa. Leicester coming from behind twice. Tete looks a magic signing.

Our next fixtures are tough, but actually looking forward to Spurs at home next Saturday now.

Huge win! I think it was impressive we did not concede in the second half, though we rode our luck at times in that respect.

 

All of the new signings were impressive. Souttar is the next in line of large bastards at the back after Huth and Maguire.

VK in my opinion is the most impressive signing we've made. To be that composed at 20 is very rare. He was put to the ultimate test by Bailey early doors but was superb throughout.

Tete is what this team would have looked like if we had Mahrez, Maddison and Tielemans at the same time. What a joy to watch.

 

Iheanacho was brilliant! Tactically it looked like we used him as a false 9, he dropped deep to link up play so that Barnes, Maddison and Tete could run past him. It worked brilliantly, but he should have bagged right at the beginning of the second half.

 

KDH was great whilst he was on too.

 

The only question mark for me is the midfield. With no out and out CDM in there I think there is too much room between the CBs and the back 4. Buendia had the freedom of Villa Park out there and almost made us pay. Perhaps we do need Ndidi in there to make it a bit tighter. That said, with Youri in there, we can play out of trouble more easily and he can make great forward passes. We scored 4 goals so there's something to be said there!

 

Result aside make no mistake we are in a relegation dogfight. Two goals conceded AGAIN is not a good look. Despite saying that, I think we defended quite well, but the issue is we give up too many chances.

Thought that was a fantastic performance, the back 4 seemed to get better the longer the game went on. I’m confident given a couple more games together we will sharpen up.

Going forwards - Maddison, Barnes, Tete and Iheanacho, not sure how anyone can live with those 4 all on fire -

Tete 1 goal

Barnes 2 assists

Not the best of games (well, I couldn't enjoy it as such) but I love the result. The 3 new guys looked good, a much needed result. We look much more balanced and Tete is obviously a threat and much needed weapon in our armoury.

Tete and Kristiansen emmense. Kristiansen is a huge upgrade. Nacho was brilliant and should have played himself into the starting 11 for the next game. Souttar found it hard at times, but he kept at it and its a tough job coming up from the Championship in a matter of days. I though Faes was excellent.

Kristiansen is night and day compared to Thomas and the starting front three has to be persisted with, those wingers suit Kelechi and his style of play suits them too. If we can get Wilf in that side doing what he was phenomenal at before the last year or so of indifferent form then we're so well balanced, providing our luck with injuries turns.

 

Keeper is still a cause for concern however it's dressed up.

It will change the atmosphere for next home game, no reason why we can't get at least a draw again Spurs at Home now.

What a game that was! First half was scintillating. Second half we had to weather the storm. The new signings already making a big difference. A lot more hopeful for the rest of the season after that. Loads of positives to take but my only concern is Ward in goal. Everything seems to go past him. Really think BR should think about giving Iversen a chance.
