Match Thread - Blackburn Rovers - "FA Cup 5th Round"

Our squad is wanting.  How have we descended to this?

The squadlacks balance completely.   Injuries create holes.

It is more endemic than just Rodgers.    He has to stay for now but should go at the end of the season.

Our squad will need many new players including two new creativemidfielders and one or more wide player.

Wtf are you on. The way out of this is to rid ourselves of him now.

Are you mental? Why does he have to stay now?

Not sure what you mean by endemic but I can't see many arguments that can disprove him as route cause.

Injuries were never this much of an issue until he landed and lets not even start with the investment propaganda, this is the squad he built (dismantled).

He was shit.

Maybe not as shit as the rest, but still shit.

Everyone is crying out for him to come good. It ain't going to happen.

Like Albrighton, he's limited, but he injects much needed energy and takes initiative when he can.
We look decidedly weaker when Soumare and/or Ndidi play instead of him.

We've even seen him eclipse Tielemans at times this season and last.
KDH is not our biggest concern right now - the others mentioned are far more critical.

You're comparing him to 2 defensive midfielders who are woefully out of form and and another player who's running his contract down and couldn't care less.

KDH isn't good enough and never will be.

Next season, Maddison and Tielemans will be gone.

You think he's good enough to start every week? You're wrong. Even if we start next season in the Championship.

Soumaré was earmarked for exactly the role KDH is performing in - as a box to box midfielder. But Soumaré was abysmal from the start and now Rodgers is shoehorning him into the side because Ndidi is done and Mendy was forgotten about until Soumaré's injury.

Re: Tielemans, it's getting old now the whole "he couldn't care less" idea that you and others are spouting. He looks exactly the same as he always has, except this season we look even worse across the board.

I'm not saying we should start KDH every game or that we should build a side around him, but he's miles more useful to us in our current predicament.
We do still need home-grown players in our squad and we cannot afford to swap the majority of our squad.
Those are pretty strong reasons to keep him on and work around his limitations instead of flogging him.

KDH was good compared to the crap around him. It was very obvious soumare was terrible, making the entire defence collapse like a wobbly mousse each time he held possession. Sometimes a player has an outsized impact on team performance. Unfortunately Rodgers has put soumare in perhaps the most important position in the starting line up. If he has an off day, so does the entire defence. There's no plan B when that happens.

Rodgers, Amartey, Thomas, Soumare, KDH, Praet, Tete, Daka...

Just fvck off.

Seriously, just go. You're all utter shite.

Daka was actually alright when he came on, did the stuff that he gets slated for well. Came for the ball, held it up and laid it off well.
