better than the other 3 ties to be fair if we’d been drawn away.

We would have been. We'd have been the same ball as Blackburn as the numbers are based on the order the ties were drawn out in the previous round.

Sheffield United away is hardly a straightforward draw.

No, but for a chance to get to an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, it’s not as tricky as it could be! Golden opportunity missed!!!

Not worth thinking like that. That is what cup football is about.

Disagree, Rodgers went with rotation, which he hasn’t really done as much in the past and it backfired massively.

IF we don’t get maximum points at Southampton, then retrospectively you can absolutely look back at it and say they were poor decisions.

I was talking about wasting time worrying about if we had won. Point is we didn't. Other teams will also look at their failure to progress but it is all academic

I don't recall us ever having a tie as kind as that at this level. It's normally always a top team.

It's no gimme but we should be in those semis. It's another missed opportunity.

A path to a semi of  Gillingham, Walsall, Blackburn and Sheff U is a massive opportunity missed.

Why does it matter? If we got to the semi we'd have had Man City, Man utd or Brighton, we wouldn't win any of those an it would just be an added distraction for the relegation scrap. Brighton scored more against us in one game than we managed against Walsall, Gillingham and Blackburn combined.

Would have been a trip to Wembley and some chance is better then none.

I get that if you are Newcastle and haven't won sweet fa for 60 years but our priorities lie elsewhere, don't address the slide an we may struggle to make the play offs next season.

Puel did something similar versus Newport in the FA Cup, two weeks later he was sacked. Could history repeat?
